I know he has nothing to do with Sunderland, but who agrees, that as talented as he is,Rooney is just a thug who does not deserve to play for England!!If it were up to me,and I know it ain't,he would not play for his country again. He's an over-rated bully-boy and thug IMO!!
Funnily enough, the missus just said - why did he do that? I replied -cos he's a thug. Then I read this.
The worst thing about it is that he really is a fantastic talent who will work his socks off for the team, and it's just a pity that he has this nasty streak which he doesn't seem able to control...
I'm afraid you only have to look at his parentage and family to see why he is the way he is. Hardly role models of virtue and decency are they? I think Rooney is a good player and a talented team one at that but I think because England have a dearth of real world class talent, he is over hyped and not as good as all the pundits would have us all believe. He has never done it at the big tournaments and he rarely turns games on his own for England (as David Beckham often did) and more often than not, he gets involved in this kind of thing in both international and domestic competitions far too easily and far too often. Beckham learned very quickly after his one moment of madness (still think Simeone was a cheating ****er mind) and became a true world class player, something Rooney certainly isnt and never will be imo.
Disagree with most of the comments here... He is only 25 having seemingly been around for what feels like 20 years now. He is human too... and with the media frenzy taking place with regards to his family at the moment its not surprising to see a lack of discipline. I'm actually pleased to see Rooney lashing out as players of his temperament generally produce thier most exquisite football whilst teetering upon the edge of disorder. I like to watch brilliance and hopefully we see more of what Rooney is capable of this season.
I think your right Cest, when did Rooney ever change a game or doing anything is a massive game under pressure??? Owen has done much more than Rooney has so far. We had a real world class team in 98 but Beckham and the ref let us down, if it had not been for the Beckham incident and the ref disallowing Campbell's goal we could have gone on and won that world cup. Are team now is just full of money grabbing players who don't care, look at tonight, 2-0 up they thought they had it won and took their put off the gas and got lazy. Look at the Spanish they are all hungry for it, They want to be champions, our players want to be the best paid!!!
you actually pleased to see players lash out you are an idiot and a fool and not a football supporter
I must confess that it brings a smile to my face when I read, "He is only 25". At 25 you are classed a grown up man. At 25 you can have a family, he does. At 25 your brain should work, his seems not to. At 25, and younger, you can die abroad in a uniform, many have. Its an insult to the thousands of good honest 25 year olds, and younger, to use age.
The resident dullard looks up from his copy of woman's realm magazine..... And mashes his grubby hands across the keyboard. Tedious.
Like Tevez and Ronaldo,Rooney is and has been a world class footballer. As a person he is a disgrace like Ronaldo,Tevez,Rio,Giggsy,Titus,Gyan,Bent,Joey,Terry,Ashley Cole,Mike Ashley,Chapaz...................
He is the kind of player you do niggardly fouls on so he turns round and hits you and gets sent off. No use to his team
Can't remember this game, not the cleanest from him..
