Smithies - Not his best game. Some very poor decision making re punching and rushing out.
Perch - if he can play like that why hasn't he been?
Hall and Angella looked like a really decent centre back pairing for the first time.
Onuoha - if he can play like that at full back why hasn't he been?
Henry - the debate rolls on. Good outing this time round but then Brum had forgotten to read the script about pressing QPR in midfield.
Hoilett - MoM for me. Involved in everything good going forward and tracked back regularly. And who knew he took pens?
Luongo - I know he will be many people's MoM but he doesn't like it physical does he?
Chery - a mystery why JFL hasn't played him more.
Polter - probably The Big F'ing German's best performance for us. I could yet like him.
Matt Phillips - Premier League, you're having a laugh.
Birmingham City - Premier League, you're having a laugh.

Hoilett had too many misplaced passes for me. Thought Chery and Luongo were class. As for Polters best performance? sorry but again ran around well and passed a lot better than he has done before but again lacks quality at the right times..
Cannot moan because its the best we have played recently but we still lack a decent striker and quality to be serious challengers next year.

I don't see how anyone can dislike Polter and he seems to be improving pretty much every game. Great work rate and the nutmeg which led to the penalty was good skill.

Luongo can tackle. It's not his main strength but he showed he can do it. I think the criticism of Smithies is a bit harsh. The punches should have been cleaner but I'd far rather he didn't take a chance trying to catch it when he's got a big lump like Donaldson in his face.

Not a dislike Watford, in fact, i said he has improved but he lacks quality. Seriously you must be able to see that?

Depends who you're comparing him to. His first touch isn't great but seems to be getting better. His hold up play and intelligence during the game in terms of the runs he makes and laying it off can be quite good. Waiting to be barged over showed a degree of awareness I didn't think he had.

When you look at someone like Donaldson who has been playing and scoring in this league for a few years, I'd fancy Polter to go on to be much better than that. Defenders don't seem to enjoy playing against him. Grant Holt nearly got an England cap.

I was hoping he would be a younger, fitter Zamora but from what I've seen so far he falls way short of that tag.

In his first season in this country, in his first real run in the side, I think he's doing more than we could have expected. 5 goals in 15 including sub appearances and he gives us an outlet to hoof it when needed.

Perhaps I'm being somewhat unfair. We were so used to playing the ball up to Zamora and it sticking on the majority of occasions.

...which is why he cost bugger all... Surely a 'younger fitter Zamora' would start at £10m? Hence the reason the price 'tag' wasn't wildly out of our reach.

Seriously though, he has scored, assisted and offered a lot of problems to the oppos defences - and (as commented) he looks like he will get better - at the price what's not to like?

For me Ned has always been a RB, who got converted to CB. Defensively he has always looked better there. He has always been able to run with the ball, but seems too often to lack the confidence to do it.

I think that's being very kind to Zamora.

Just my opinion but I thought Austin's better games were when he was playing off Zamora

    I count 11 on my list :emoticon-0110-tongu
Washington came on as sub but had little impact. He needs to be starting games really but as 4-4-2 is clearly disastrous for us you can't see it happening much.

Well for me BFG try's but like Mackie he lacks quality. I may not be the best football brain on the planet but i think most who have watched him would probably say the same. The football bloke on the telly even said "he is no Charlie Austin".

    That's a rose-tinted recollection of Zamora, I would say.
