A quick post to gauge how much interest there is in a visit to some studs around Newmarket.

I've spoken to a few people and while nothing firm is in place, it looks highly likely that I will be able to arrange something before Christmas. The only thing I can say for certain at this stage is that it will take place on a Friday.

This will be an opportunity to see behind the scenes at some of the highest profile studs in the world. They are not normally open to the general public so this really will be a once in a lifetime chance to learn more about the breeding/bloodstock industry.

If you are interested please can you put your name down here so that I can get an idea of how many people would like to come. I need to move quite quickly on this to get it arranged so don't delay as numbers will be limited.

Please note there is likely to be a small cost as I will need to book a bus/coach as the studs do not like to have dozens of cars descending upon them.

Oddy/Ron - can you make this a sticky for now so everyone gets to see it.

Would it incentivise any of you to know that I've already got permission from Banstead Manor to take you up to see Frankel?!

It would be a wonderful thing to do PN and I cant believe you are not being knocked over in the rush. Just to see Frankel up close wow. Its the midweek thing that cooks it for me, no holiday left. I will be playing hookey when my horse runs!

I'm being driven by Banstead, they're not prepared to do a weekend due to the shorter hours their staff work so I've opted for a Friday to try and minimise the amount of time people will need to take off.

I wouldn't normally advocate pulling a sickie, but perhaps with such an opportunity? ;)

Glad folks are starting to come out of the woodwork, once we get a reasonable number (Banstead have said maximum of 40, so at this rate if anyone want to bring a friend it looks like you can!) I'll try to firm up a date and let people know about places to stay if they need them.

Would have loved to do this but most of my Friday's are booked up til the end of the year (3 of them involve a trip to Australia in November).

For those of you who do go take loads of photos please!

Thanks for organising this Princess, I would definitely be interested and it's not out the question I could take a Friday off work but would need the date before able to confirm.

I have not been to Newmarket for at least a couple of weeks and there is the obvious appeal of visiting with Frankel. I bet he does not look much like the last time I saw him, now that his life consists of running around in a paddock, eating and shagging. If there is such a thing as reincarnation, I know my choice...

A Friday should be no problem for me. My main concern is that I will probably bring bad weather with me as it tends to follow us northerners around!
