    Simple question.
    Which site do you prefer?
I like NOT606 but for me it seems to have lost something from the old BBC606, which I'm kind of missing more and more.

The 2 sites have a different character. I blame Syd, bringing in all that weird, pervy, puppy sex stuff.

I initially preferred the original 606 layout, but this site has gown on me completely. If 606 came back, I'd probably stay on here.

BBC 606 was better laid out and more professional for the money we fork out in licence fees it bloody well should be as well. Not606 is doing okay and going from strength to strength just the odd niggle. For me getting any "rep" or any sort of comment tagged with the users name would be a good start, these stupid attachments you see on threads just slagging people off also.
Of the two I'm going for Not606 top marks for the lads who set up and run it.

BBC606 had the edge for me....can't quite put my finger on why though. I loved the 'look' of BBC606 - but since we were paying for it in licensing then so it should have been quality.

Don't find myself on here as much as I was on the beeb...but then maybe it's a nastalgic view of what has gone.

They aren't going to bring it back and this site does a very good job.

Here's to the good ol' days.....<cheers>

Must admit I don't get the need for Rep or levels or points for threads, posts etc. It's all just clutter.

I think the problem here, and I am a culprit, is the amount of threads with no real meaning, the freedom of the site has brought a lot of trivia.

On BBC606 we seemed to have less threads but more input per thread, many threads on here have 4 or 5 comments, again I accept I am a culprit. Maybe a problem is that some, like me, are trying to hard, things are quiet so I try and force debate, I am backing off at the moment.

    Just a view

But I prefer the fact that the thread with the latest comment can be viewed first, rather than your beloved article being relegated to the dreaded Page Two.

BBC used to be that way years ago but people were abusing it by keeping pathetic threads at the top of the page, sometimes for weeks.

I read a lot more than I posted on 606, and do the same on here, because quite often its just quick checks on the way to work etc to see if anything exciting is going on in SAFC-world.

I thought this would have a hard job on to replace the BBC version, but within a few weeks I found this is much easier to use, in my opinion. I like the format, and the general layout of the site I find easier than 606. 606 was a bit dark as well..! You can do more on here (I think?), in terms of content in your posts, quotes etc. There is also no 'this comment is awaiting moderation' on here, which gives a nice element of freedom which the BBC sadly lacked, given that we're all (mostly) grown-ups.

I agree Cyprus in that I don't rate the 'rep' side of things- don't really understand the point. But then again that may be as I don't get involved as much as I could do.

Syd- the more threads the better (safety: within reason!), gives us all something to read! The off topic threads are again a tick in the freedom column- if people don't want to read and post in them then fair enough, but that's no reason not to post them- and I'm sure the 4/5 posters enjoy the less-active threads, so it's all worthwhile.

The ability to swear, although often abused, is quite refreshing. We all know there are far too many days where we need to leave intelligent debate at the door and just say 'for ****S SAKE SUNDERLAND!!' - although hopefully we'll have less of those days this season :)

For me the freedom that is allowed on this site means that the positives outweigh the negatives in comparison with 606.
However, the tool which allows posters to post insulting remarks anonymously (which I have been inundated with in recent days) in this 'rep' box, is its one big downside.

I'm the same at the moment, posting for the hell of it has become boring. Less than 4 weeks till the season kicks off, can't wait! :)

BTW, not606 is better with the limited moderation ;)

I'm not sure how this site could be improved other than the obvious one. We need more people to contribute regularly.

You mate seemed to have been singled out by them from the darkside. I've had positive Rep left which hinted towards certain other Sunderland fans being targeted for abuse.
    Did you upset them?

It could be of course that the Rep system is putting people off coming on here and contributing.

This site is the best site every because the mods are the most amazing people in the world ever...fact <whistle>

In all seriousness though, i think the ability to post matchday cross-board articles is going to be a big improvement, the derby day banter will be great on here as a result, not changing between 2 boards, i used to really enjoy when people did a pre-match, with stats etc, that developed into a bit banter, some build up jousting, and a post match post mortem.

Looking forward to that, for sure.

I'll agree on rep, i'm not against rep, but the anonymous thing should be rectified, as the whole system fails if it's unjustified.

I must confess the rep thing puzzles me, I'm sure I have lots of nasty things on my rep page but I have no intrest in it so never look, cant understand why people say they dont like it then look at it.
