site is, i'm afraid, being slowly killed by overzealous and biased moderation. one of the best aspects about 606 was the ability to engage in banter with rival fans, if necessary on their own boards and sometimes accross multiple boards. this is not being allowed to happen here. the job of a moderator is to keep things civil (ie - ban people who start childish **** like 'your mum's a such and such'), remove anything that could get the site shut down or sued. it is not to pull threads simply because they might not like the topic or because the thread is designed to wind up or taunt the opposing side. this is part of the whole fun of a football forum.
I agree. Viva United giving me an infraction for saying the word '****' followed by another infraction for posting an article complaining about it. Shoddy moderating. He should be stripped of his power.

People need to chill. With an influx of poseters from 606 wanting to take advantage of the lack of moderation, this place was unruly. The over moderation you're seeing now is a knee jerk reaction to that. Get off your soap boxes and go back to talking about football on the board of the team that you support and you might just get somewhere.

Do you give all the mods a little run through as to what they're supposed to be doing syd? Not a criticism as such just a question because some don't seem to know. Posts need to stop being deleted unless they are discriminatory in any way, and infractions should be kept within the rules (I do believe there is no such reason as WUMing) If a mod thinks a thread is a wind up, instead of it turning into a slag off fest, just close it and move on... Simple. And if you go on another board and post ANYTHING negative that isn't constructive, for gods sake expect it. Everyone complains that they get dealt with harshly when commenting on other boards, but as posters expect others to recieve the same treatment when they post on yours. Like I said in another thread, kids in glass houses............ ****ing grow up some of you are old enough to be my dad act like it.
I'm trying to mate, TBH most boards are now ticking along fine, the first week it was all out war on the Sunderland and Newcastle boards to see who knew the most swear words. Bannter and wind ups are an historical fact of life between us. Most fans on both sides have mates who support the other lot so we tend to sort ourselves out and haatred is rare. The main problem I'm trying to come to terms with is the history between Man U and Arsenal and I badly need the reasonable fans on either side to take over their boards and the mods on each to be the solution not the problem. Easier said than done at times because its a learning curve for us all.
Syd. I honestly don't think that there is much of a problem on the Arsenal board apart from a couple of Utd members (no offence to Utd fans in general) who are hell bent on trying to instil choas. Naturally a few people are reacting to them. Cym is trying to nip it in the bud, so the troublemakers cry wolf and claim they are being hard done by. It'll all die down soon enough. They'll either end up getting bored, ignored or banned and then the decent fans can get on with the good natured banter
