Because many of us have been on not606 for some months now, we have managed to find our way around many of the functions available to us through this site.

However, there are many members that are just rejoining us for the start of the new season, so I thought I would set this thread up, as a guide to help people find their way around some of the functions on this site.

Notifications - very top (right) of the board, for sharing private messages (PM) within not606, basically the same as sending someone an email. Notifications can also be used to send and accept/decline group invites.

Smilies - these can be accessed by clicking on the 'Go Advanced' button, also this area will allow you to post images and attachments.

Subscribed Threads (Favourites) - if you have particular threads you wish to list in the same way as you would a favourite, you can subscribe to it as follows...

Click on the relevant thread link that you want to open it.
Click on 'Thread Tools' at top of the thread page (NOT top of board)
    Select 'Subscribe to this Thread'
In the drop down box, check it is set to 'Through my control panel' (unless you want emails!)
    Finally click 'Add Subscription'

You can then view your subscribed thread through the Control Panel, however, an easier option is to, go to the top left of the board and click 'Quick Links' (underneath Articles) and select 'Subscribed Threads'. It will then give you quick easy access to all your subscriptions.

Obviously there are many more functions available, so if in doubt just ask <ok>

No problem and good to see you back <ok>

I recognised that some users were struggling with some of the functions, there are many more but I'm worried about bombarding people with to much information.

Now you just need to sort yourself out an avatar (picture) <laugh>

Yes, that's because that is what you have done a picture.

Your avatar would appear underneath, check out my profile for example...
Some psycho as a pic <laugh>
with Gills badge as avatar underneath.

After the game today, I will put up instructions <ok>

Sorry about not sorting this earlier, I was rushing to go down the pub before the game <laugh>

Right now back to your avatar...

Last time I assume you did Edit Profile Picture, so you want the function below that, so go as before...

Click Control Panel - very top right of board, next to log out.
Click Edit Avatar - this will be down the right hand side of your screen.
Hopefully the rest will be self explanatory, if not come back to me.

You will just need to note the following: The maximum size of your custom image is 80 by 80 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller).
Unfortunately this one is a pain in the neck for a lot of people!

I got this info from another mod...

"How much reputation is given? What is reputation power?

If the administrator has enabled this, the amount of reputation that each user will give (or take away if negative) is shown in the user's posts as 'Reputation Power'. The value of the reputation power is determined by the administrator and may increase over time depending on the settings they have applied."

Rep power, when you read a comment you will see a star at the bottom right, click on it and you can give positive or negative rep, say how you like the comment. The posters rep power then goes up or down.

Click on your username and into your profile, click experience and it shows you points and how you got them.
