Big run expected from WADSWICK COURT 1:20 Exeter tomorrow. 11/2 now but will go off a fair bit shorter! Another interesting Ben Pauling runner in NEWTON THISTLE tomorrow also, 2:10 Towcester 7/2. The test tomorrow looks tailor made!
1:10 Towc - Premier Portrait 10/1 Taking a chance on a horse that has been pulled up the last twice but prior to that had won at Worcester on it's chasing debut. That form is pretty solid as PP had dual subsequent chase winner Smiles For Miles almost 17 lengths back in 6th, hurdle winner Dunlough Bay 25 lengths back in 7th and another subsequent chase winner The Happy Warrior 44 lengths behind in 9th. It could just be that PP has lost his way as he didn't 'kick on' from his debut hurdle win but at 10/1, there are worse bets to be had. Good luck all!!
1.20 Exeter. LOCHNAGAR. 7-4. Tipped him up last week and not going to desert him here. Officially 6lb well in. Win bet.
Morning, all. I’m waving the old no bet banner today as nothing really jumps out from the paper and pokes me in the eye. Yesterday though I thought old girl CHOCCA WOCCA was most impressive as she put the race to bed in a matter of strides. A shake of the reins and it was all over. She remains one to watch very closely. I didn’t realise it until after the race but in 2011 Mr Henderson, the forum’s favourite trainer, won the same bumper with My Tent or Yours. The omens remain good for her future. Best of luck to those wagering today.
Lochnagar ....... some great memories for those of us of a certain age. A fabulous sprinter in a great sprinting dynasty. He won the King's Stand, Nunthorpe, and Temple Stakes in 1976. This version certainly won well enough last time, and although he'd never win the Nunthorpe, he looks good enough here
What do the great and the good, on the forum, think about Mr Henderson’s TAYLOR being given a perch as low as 110?!? She’s set run off this mark, stepped up to 24 furlongs, in a novice handicap on Saturday across the county line at Ascot. And please no puns involving the word ‘swift’. 2 ways of looking at this she’s potentially the best handicapped horse since Cocktails at Dawn earlier in the year or she’s just running off a figure she deserves. Personally, I’d be meandering towards the former.
Morning all, only one bet for me in the UK today and that is Cove 9/4 in the 1:10 @ Towcester. Over in Maydan I'm sticking with Dobbs/Watson; In the 3:20 Entrenched @ 16/1 is a (IMO) a good e/w shout. The 5:05 has Storm Belt @ 5/2.Also in this race one that grabs my attention is Zambucca @ 12/1.Form is 77556 but I feel there's a big race coming from it soon.So for me in this race it's a win, each way and a dabble on a r/f. Good luck all.Happy betting.
Towcester - 12:40 AL DESTOOR .. the word from the owner is 'its not just going up there for the trip' ... good luck to those that play ... and always remember to gamble responsibly ... 9/2 now ...
Al Destoor - owner fed up Quinlan rode it too far off th epace - but will give us the nod when next runs ... e/w double now on with Sticks WADSWICK COURT .. fingers x'd ..
That would be Lochnager Reebs. Also won the July Cup and William Hill Sprint plus the Ayr Gold Cup. Fantastic horse, backed him when I went to Newmarket; set me up for the day
Not a real surprise as Mr Henderson said a couple of days ago that a slog in a such a competitive 3 mile chase would not be an ideal starting point for the horse after so long off. Should I start my annual prediction about Simonsig going for the ‘Champion Hurdle’?!?
