1:50 Sandown - Court Minstrel 10/3 Fancy this one to get the better of Irish Saint who is just too short for me. Both animals beat Chris Pea Green last time out and much seems to be made of how IS beat CPG easier than CM. It should be pointed out however that CM was giving away 5lb to CPG whereas IS beat that one off levels. The ground may be stickier than Court Minstrel normally prefers but at the prices, he's the one I'm willing to take a chance on. 3:00 Sandown - Gods Own 7/2 No way on Earth was I going to desert this fella after he made me a nice few quid by winning the Haldon Gold Cup. He had Balder Success 5 lengths behind on that occasion when receiving 7lb. I know they are off levels today but with the yard dismissing the 'easier' option of the Henry VIII they must be extremely confident of beating BS once again. The trainer also reports that he has worked well and Paddy Brennan believes this is the fastest 2 mile chaser he has sat on - yes, these things should be taken with a pinch of salt but I'm a believer. For me, he's my biggest bet of the winter thus far and he owes me nothing. Good luck!!
No worries CH, I just think Court Minstrel represented the value as he's not done anything wrong. I know connections are taking a chance on softer than ideal ground but I just couldn't bring myself to take 6/4 about Irish Saint. Having said that, I expect Dunraven Storm will hack up now
I think it's really exciting to have a genuine race in a grade one 2m chase. Haven't seen one in a few years. I'll really enjoy watching it without having a bet.
Yes it should certainly be more open than it has been in recent years Bob. I'm really taken with God's Own and although it's early days, he could develop into a genuine contender for top honours next March.
Having a punt in the Aint 1.30. Benbens (win only) Burton Port (win + larger place) Could prove troublesome... Oscar Time Green Flag
No time to write up but I fancy Meadowcroft boy Ma filleule Dodging bullets Vilbrato valtat Hunt ball
I know this is not an interesting race or even a huge price but as the jumps seems really competitive tomorrow I wanted to put up what I see as a cast iron financial investment. Wolverhampton 8.15 Personal Opinion 13-8 Loves the track, won last time out from a poor placing and there is for me nothing to touch this horse in this race The key is that he was gelded recently and on his only run since it looked to have brought about improvement. I would not imagine Godolphin geld too many of theirs, and so to geld the horse to keep in training rather than just sell it off I feel someone must have reckoned that there was a decent animal worth persevering with.
Aintree 1.30 GOONYELLA who chased home the subsequent Cheltenham festival winner Don Poli over hurdles in February should have softer ground today than when he was seventh in the Irish National in April. He has a big staying handicap in him and may prove the point today at a very reasonable 12/1.
Decided to do another race. Aint 3.15 Champion Court (win + larger place) Dolatulo (win only) all @ bfsp
Afternoon All. Today's lucky 15. Aintree,12-30.Nyanza. Sandown Park,1-50.Irish Saint. " " 3-00.Dodging Bullets. " " 3-35.There's No Panic.(Nap) Good luck to all.
Money gone astray on the heavily backed Our Father who looked to be cruising to victory until the jock decided to push him on way too early only to fade at the last. At least they got a run, my selection Goonyella was down at the first. I hate the jumps.
