Very gritty win from Tiger Roll there. 2 from 2 at Cheltenham and a horse who really does relish the uphill finish. Good attributes to have but he just lacks the cruising speed to be a Champion Hurdle horse. Really likeable attitude though- keep him to big galloping tracks I say
Peace of mind for me there anyway, Calipto wasn't that unlucky in the Triumph after all! Tiger Roll beats him giving him 8lbs...Mind you I don't think Calipto likes that hill much either.
Quite surprising that the horses in the next at Ascot are running for £770k. There only looks to be one solid champion among them. I know there is the fly in the ointment with Free Eagle but this unknown aside CDA looks a cracking bet.
Well done Lady Cecil. Brilliant performance and unbelievable improvement. James Doyle deserves plaudits because this was his idea (to make all) back in May when destroying them at Sandown.

Cirrus should bow out. 8 years old, looked a bit weak after Epsom, ideal conditions today but not at his old brilliant best- nearly £6m in prizemoney. What more can you ask of a horse with no knackers? Don't be greedy just because he can't go to stud. Free Eagle ran nice but IMO should have been saved for next season. Ridiculous ground. Hope he becomes something special.
