3.30 Catterick - Jolie Blonde - Sir Mark, 3 starts in maidens then stepped up in trip last week and ran out a good winner. The further they went the better she looked, another step up in trip today will suit. 6/4 with Bet365 but I expect she will be odds on by post time
I know that when we recognise a jockey has some decent mounts at a track it usually comes to little and this may indeed go the same way. However.......Ryan Moore at Kempton tomorrow evening must be followed, 7 horses with great chances. I will be selecting the top 5 in trebles, fourfolds and an acca. If the Cumani horse is odds on I may omit it. I have placed them in order of preference. 6.05 John Ceaser 7-4 7.05 Steevo 7-2 7.35 Gallupi no price but short expected 8.05 Morning Watch 3-1 8.35 Dutch interior 7-2 6.35 Evident 9-2 5.35 Al Breve no price or form (Moore now riding Yarrow of the two Stoute runners, which now becomes the horse to follow if backing Moore at Kempton)
Interesting that Bluesky missed out the one I'm going to talk about and that is his mount in the 5.35, I've no doubt Bluesky is correct. Moore rides the filly Yarrow for SMS. This filly is by Sea the Stars out of Highland Gift, which makes her a half-sister to Golan and Tartan Bearer. Golan won his only race as a 2yo, Tartan Bearer was unluckily 2nd on his only 2yo start. Other siblings that ran as 2yos also ran only once, Leocorno winning and Long View being placed. So although Stoute doesn't push his 2yos first time out this family seems ready to do the job. I expect a promising run from this filly with a place likely. My problem is that I'm torn between her and Talent's full sister Forte who is having her 2nd outing. She put in a promising performance first time out making up a lot of ground in the straight to finish 3rd. She did show that family tendancy to pull hard in the first few furlongs, but settled after that. If she settles today for me she should win.
Morning, pilgrims. Would agree with Cityhull re that old rogue, Sir Mark Prescottâs Jolie Blonde, what a lovely name for a filly by the way. Off just 6 lbs higher than last week she should go in with ease again. Sheâs similar to his High Secret in that you get the impression that like that one Jolie Blonde is going to run up a sequence. My main advice though would be over the water at Tipperary in the beginners chase (3.55). My regular readers may recall I was very interested in THE JOB IS RIGHT for last terms NH Chase at the Festival a novice event for which connections were considering for this oneâs fencing bow. That may seem a wild plan but his connections know what they are doing and is a race that the yard have won in the past. Ultimately, The Job Is Right didnât make it to that race but looks very much one to follow over fences this term. Was a useful hurdler (both won and was placed in a Grade 3) and one that the terrible cliché âwhatever he does over hurdles is a bonusâ certainly applies. Think he could be very good over the big âuns and if fit enough on his seasonal debut I expect him to oblige this afternoon. The forumâs favourite saddle monkey with the Christian name initials A.P. (A.P. Heskin) takes the ride for the very shrewd Mr Hourigan. Good luck everybody.
Ah I see what happened, I have not missed out Yarrow intentionally over Al Breve and if Moore is riding Yarrow then that is indeed the obvious selection of the two Stoute runners if following Ryan Moore at the meeting. My error was due to using the Betvictor site when perusing today's cards yesterday evening, then as now Moore is actually down to ride both Stoute horse (some feat that would be). I am still going to avoid putting Yarrow in my multiples however as without form and with the presence of Forte it's probably for the best. Small single on Yarrow however just to follow the Moore tonight.
I’m sure I speak for everyone, and I do mean everyone, on the forum when I say happy 55th birthday to the forum’s 3rd favourite owner, old boy Sir Simon Cowell. Have a great day, Sir Simon.
Love too darling 350 brighton BLOODSWEATANDTEARS should not be underestimated at 11s throwing in yours and micks for the ew treble
I see Ruby pops down to Tipperary to ride Willie Mullins' 2/7 shot Morning Run in the opener. Be a shock if he even gets his boots dirty.
Good call City Hull, I watched this horse win last week as well and all I will say is that you would never want a fortune riding on this one as she clearly has her own ideas. I am not usually a fan of the Luke Morris type Jocks but he is perfect for this horse as without that strong encouragement she would offer nothing freely.
Thanks guys I watched it too Blue and just felt she did nothing quickly, will probably get another win into her although I haven't seen today's race yet.
