The Twister sends a couple of very interesting runners to Perth. In the 2.45 triple bumper winner (including the Aintree Champion Bumper) Ballybolley, owned by Simon Munir, has his first outing over hurdles. Just over an hour later at 3.55, Betfair Hurdle winner Splash of Ginge makes his chasing debut.
Make It Up 5/1 is a really nice horse, dam is half sister to Authorized and just something about him that I like, cant really explain it. Not going to be anything special but think he will be a decent horse in his own right. If I could keep one from this race it would be him regardless of what happens here. Ill also give Secret Hint 11/2 another chance in the last, she beat me for a double with Make It Up last time but raced herself well away from the action and I thought she was worth another shot off 80. The form of that race hasnt worked out well since, she is out of the handicap and with the likes of Aetna and Athenian she is up against a different class here so wont be surprised if she goes off a bit bigger.
Very quiet on here today! Little Pop looks to be popular with the Twiston-Davis stable price is diving. What do you think Oddy will they have three?
Pontefract 405 epic battle should put up a big fight at good odds and interestingly Fallon is called up
I was looking at him last night wondering whether to risk a "dabble". Very tricky race but quite like him myself. We'll find out today what his limitations are because he likes to go from the front and doesn't hang around. If he's good enough, he'll win (ie he won't get caught up in one of those muddling races).
Very interesting stick. Stepped up in distance and with that pedigree should need the trip. Also a market mover as now best priced 11/2 (as low as 4/1).
Oops ........ er .............. no Ballybolley beaten 33 lengths by the mare rated 51 on the flat. Didn't see that coming.
Unless something amiss, he simply isn't good enough I'm afraid. Led 'til halfway and beaten over 1f out
Id stick a line through that Ron, wasnt convinced this was the right race for him hence the regardless comment. I was thinking something like the Epsom trial next season might suit him, Balding usually runs one in it and has a decent record.
