Let’s have a go at pulling together our favourite this, that and the other for the last 12 months. The options I mention within the categories are only suggestions, not an exclusive list, you are free to answer whatever you want (except Barton )

    1 - Best Player of 2013
There is only one contender in my book (remember this runs from January to December), Clint Hill. Other players who have made an impression with some, such as Townsend, Remy, Green, Dunne, Austin and Barton can only claim 5 months at best.

    2 - Best Match of 2013
I think I’m going for Man City at home, other obvious contenders would be Chelsea (A), Sunderland (H), Southampton (A) from last season. This season Derby (H) and Bournemouth (H) maybe the standout performances, although the Birmingham (H) will always be a special day for many of us.

    3 - Best Goal of 2013
Remy against Wigan is the obvious contender, but I prefer well worked team goals so Austin against Blackpool gets my vote. I’d expect SWP against Chelsea to be popular with Townsend against Sunderland, Austin against Birmingham and AJ against Bolton to be considered.

    4 - Best Signing of 2013
Charlie Austin gets my vote, other contenders include Remy, Dunne, Simpson and Phillips.

    5 - Best Loan Signing of 2013
I think that this is the toughest to pick. Andros Townsend briefly gave us some hope last season, Krancjar and Carroll have made an impression this, but I’m going for BAE for his flashes of genius.

    6 - Highlight of 2013
This is a really open category. For me the promise of Gallen’s youth players heralded by their success both in competitions here and in the USA has been the highlight. Other options could be the announcement of the new stadium, beating Sheffield Wednesday in the first match of the season to start to allay fears of doing a Wolves, Hitchcock scoring against Ipswich or some, I guess, may regard the “rehabilitation” of Barton as their highlight.

Rather unusually we can’t do a manager of the year award!

I’ll compile the results at the end of the year, or when we run out of steam, or when I'm next bored.

1 Best Player - Luke Young, literally faultless as far as I can tell. Otherwise agree with Clint.
2 Best match - For pure clown value, the match v Newcastle at home. Otherwise I agree the City at home game.
    3. Best Goal - I thought the Remy goal was a decent team goal as well, Mbia was great for those 10 seconds of build up.
4 Best signing of 2013. How could you forget Chris Samba? Gets my vote, I've never seen a statue attempting to move before. Otherwise Austin, who I hope gets a crack at the prem with rather better support.
5 Best loan signing - I find it difficult to get worked up about this, I quite liked that United full back from Brazil though.
6 Highlight - Stadium announcement without a doubt, and Fernandes' composure and commitment throughout the nightmare.

    1) Hill, no contest.
    2) Chelsea away. What a night.
    3) Remy's goal vs Wigan. Just pure magic.
    4) Austin. Without him, who would be our main striker? An injury prone Johnson?
    5) Townsend. No one else comes close.
    6) Chelsea away.
