I've just glanced at the OTIB forum and after recent critical comments about us on that forum I thought I might learn something constructive that I might be able to improve our own content with. 4 of the first 5 threads were about..... * Anti IRA chants.. * Celtic.. * Racist/Sexist/Homophobic/Bigot...Malky Makay.. * Gollywog on E-Bay.. I've noticed that recently a quite a lot of people have decided to leave that forum because of so say abuse, cliques, PC control and general narrow minded points of view and content, they are a Bristol City FC influenced site but by god they do tend to wander. I'm glad we are an alternative, we may not be as big or active but we are independent and still growing, I'm glad we belong to not606 and we don't need to worry about them, we are doing OK as we progress.. I am not going back through all of their content but take a look back at the time of the NTTDS departure and you will see what some of their members were describing us as.
I wouldn't worry about it Wiz, one of the posters described this forum as "characterless" which is pretty ironic as I know the bloke who wrote that.. I can't say he has ever come across to me as a magnetic personality..
banksy, to be honest I am not worried, that's why I highlighted the subject but we are never to old to learn and if there are things happening on other forums I can learn from so be it, I have to be honest again, some of the characters I read on OTIB really puts a smile on my face but I'm not knocking them they obviously have a massive membership and we all support the same football team.
My only very small criticism of this forum is the lack of fans of other clubs - Rovers excepted. I miss the banter of the old 606, with the Palace, Forest and Wolves fans in particular. We can't even have a proper banter session with Swindle as they only have one fan and he's a numpty. For City to City conversations this forum is fine - and I only ever used OTIB once - to sell a spare ticket I had for a sell-out game about 5 years ago. The only other forum I used was JA606 - but nobody has posted on the City board there for months. Hawky used to post there (anyone know what has happened to him?)
I don't use OTIB because I find it myopic to the extreme and either black or white ............ but hey everyone should just use the forum that they want to and keep quiet about the other one

I think the Ched Evans debate on here shows why this forum is so good. Differing views, but all well put without resorting to insults.
