So a slog fest of two of the dullest managers in the league. Who will win. Will either of them win. Will pep win. Who knows. Will Jose set up to win a game or will he see Rafa and his useless bunch of players as competition and therefore set up not to win or not to lose. Interesting fact. Men with one arm and a false leg find Newcastle the easiest place to find love.
Hope so, I'm going. Looking forward to an afternoon at Media City followed by an evening in town as much as anything but hopefully Jose won't be too scared by awesome high flying Newcastle and so try to score more than one.
Apparently the big man might be on the bench for this. Now, despite his many goals, I know there are some who for some reason can't see how brilliant he is. Just having the **** sat there is a bonus but if he can get on the pitch as a number 10 with Lukaku then it can't be anything other that a massive improvement on the current favourite in that position.
Where the **** is Bailly ? Man Utd 1de Gea 25A Valencia 2Lindelöf 12Smalling 18Young 6Pogba 31Matic 19Rashford 8Mata 11Martial 9R Lukaku Substitutes 5Rojo 10Ibrahimovic 14Lingard 20Romero 21Herrera 23Shaw 27Fellaini
Jose saying Bailly missing through injury. He also said Mykhi missing for "tactical reasons". I take that to means because he is **** (I hadn't even noticed he was missing because I don't notice him when he plays).
frustrating that we can't create chances except by bombarding them with crosses NU counter attacking us with great numbers
Good game for @Chief to go to. I was offered a ticket but couldn’t make it as Stan Jr had a tennis tournament. Probably one of the more entertaining games this season! Oh well.
A much better performance today. Pogba this season is starting to have a similar influence on us as Scholes used to back in the good days. He just makes the whole team tick with his accurate passing and his willingness to get on the ball. Unfortunately his injury has left us 8 points off the pace. It is concerning though how reliant we are on him this season. Great to see Lukaku end his goal drought, and Ibra back on the pitch too. I watched both legs of the Sweden Italy game, and in both games Lindelof looked a completely different player to the player we have seen this season. He looked like a class act in both matches. So hopefully it's just a case of early nerves, and eventually he will settle and prove his worth. Vidic took a few months too look assured when he first joined, so hopefully Lindelof will get better.
I would like to take a moment to say well done to Rojo, he suffered the same injury as Zlatan in the same game and managed to play for the U23s mid week. Everybody has said how amazing Zlatan is to come back so quick yet not a mention of Rojo so..... Well done Marcos, you are a true warrior
Pogba exudes confidence that inspires the whole team to perform just that must better. Take out Lindelof and replace him with Bailly, I really think that this team could give as good as anyone. Shame we lost our way with those key games last season. Start Rashford and Martial plus always bench Mhki and that front line will always have a chance against any team.
I was expecting a dull, tactical standoff and instead it was actually a decent game, one of our more entertaining under Jose I'd say. Maybe we need the opposition to always open the scoring before we hit our customary 4 goals. Maybe it was Young and Valencia stretching the play. Maybe it was Rashford and Martial starting together. Or maybe it was Pogback/Zlatback. Whatever it was I hope it continues.
