Well....I thought there was an element of justice in this, in that two utter prats are at each other's throats!

Twitter is alive with news that Kean's been sacked, though nobody seems able to actually confirm it yet.

Kean was meeting the owners in India yesterday according to the BBC. I suspect that people may be putting 2 & 2 together. Or it's wishful thinking on the Rovers supporters part.

If it is true though it wouldn't come as a great shock

I really need to learn more about the system.

What the hell can he sue him for? "Judge, Mr Kean was very mean to me behind my back"?

Defamation. Words could be considered slanderous (although I've not listened to it)

So, essentially what I said ;)
There's a long list of people I need to sue then <laugh>

    World's gone mad.
Retaliate by defending yourself in the media, or take it like a man and leave it.

Kean accused him of being bent and taking illegal payments, I think he's got more than enough grounds to bring an action.

His comments were slanderous, and clearly with Allardyce working in Football, calling him a 'crook' and saying that's why he was sacked could be very damaging to his career. I mean, we'd all like to see the fatheaded **** out of a job, but the law's the law...

That's probably one of the best definitions of slander that I have heard <applause>

Anybody who considers suing someone for defamation must have more money than sense

Oh thanks OLM/Erik, I had no idea he'd gone that far, I was basing my comments on this:

Hence asking how the hell can he sue him <laugh>
As for the "crook" part - in that context I had just assumed he was using it lightly as an insult as opposed a genuine point.

Problem is if you don't then people assume guilt, and when you're a football manager being known to be crooked will mean you can only get the Pompey or Tottenham jobs. This isn't some two bit know nothing spouting it randomly, this is someone involved in the setup at the time who will know the reason he was sacked so him saying it would carry influence.

Even more reason to hope West Ham stay down so they can play each other next year.

Two fat ****s fighting on the touchline. Could be a laugh.

People.will assume guilt anyway. The problem with defamation is that the main remedy is an apology and a retraction. But if the matter went to trial it would take about 2 years at a cost of over a million quid.

In that time everybody has forgotten all about what kean said a year ago but, assuming he'd be found guilty he would issue an apology for calling Sam a crook, which woukd bring it all up.again in people's minds, which is counter-productive in my opinion.

In my opinion it would be better to.issue a statement condemning the video of a man in a bar on a pre-season tour and seek to.discredit it that way.

And when it went to trial they'd award costs and damages. Much better that way than to not get West Ham up this summer, get sacked, and then not get a job because he's not defending himself against claims.
