From the BBC website, Lolerpool boss Brendan Rogers commented after they lost to Palace today: Could almost have been someone closer to home talking
A few years ago Saints dropped into Lg1 and their fans were on here posting things like "I hope we can do a Norwich" only last year Liverpool were thinking that they would win the title. As a Norwich fan we are not in a bad situation and yesterday had some very bright moments. I am certainly in a minority on here with most expecting us to stroll straight back up. Our players are not as good as some make out and the teams we are up against are no mugs, this is the Championship and anyone can beat anyone.
Frankly I was happy with the appointment of NA and the first few games seemed to prove me right. But we have now hit a sticky patch and the response from the manager is worrying. We were at home to the team in 20th place and the onus should be on us to be offensive, but no, let us play our two defensive mid-fielders together, neither of whom can be called offensively competent. This put the entire creativity of the team on Howson and Redmond. And even worse, with two DM's in front of the back four, we still conceded three goals at home. How is this possible?
I think Rodgers' comments in the OP are exactly what seemed apparent against Brighton. Tettey and Johnson were all too casual at times compared to the intensity they showed in the PL last year. They seemed to underestimate Brighton players and paid the price for it.
This is bullshit. The division is very poor and we do have perfectly good enough players to get promoted. If you don't think the players are good enough then why did he sign them because the existing ones were reasonably compotent in the Division above. Adams signings are being found out. Grabban, Lafferty all seemed to perform elsewhere. The centreback signings are a complete mystery.
Ok our players are brilliant just the last 2 managers made them all play badly . Carabuh is the font of all knowledge.
It's not often I agree with WCP, but I do on this one. Our players too often underestimate the opposition.
I fear a few of our players think this division is beneath them as they arrive walking off the team bus with their Beats earphones and Prada man bags ,they know they will pick up a decent wage no matter how much effort they put in and if the team fails to gain promotion they will jump ship and get snapped up by an average prem side.
If this is true then Adams certainly has to go. I don't think you can advocate him staying after such a comment.
