I'm sure there's room in here for general football chat - not just Swansea. As a football fan, I look at articles in general, swansea specifically.

Just read this article and I thought - what a little goit!

I often wondered what Liverpool fans had against Michael Owen and this piece just abotu sums it up. I mean, I get grumpy about some ex-managers and players but we don't have anyone who quite so willingly tries to disrupt and damage us.

    1) Sterling is stalling on a contract and is rumoured to be pressing for more money and his agents have voiced anger that Rodgers said he would be "foolish" not to.

    2) there are rumours that Man Utd are sniffing around (I've seen that in a couple of papers).

    3) some comments have been drawn that Liverpool are over-playing their younger players.

    4) ex-Liverpool and ex-Man U player, Michael Owen, comes out and says he was overplayed as a youngster and Liverpool are entirely to blame for his injuries now. He even says that he wished he's been a youngster at Man U and been protected.

I can't help but think that this is a deliberate ploy - a nudge at Sterling that he should refuse the contract and go to Man Utd instead. It seems far too convenient.

So, whenever we've grumbled about an ex-player, at least think that they haven't tried to stitch us up in this way...

I don't see a problem in this to be honest, he could be right.
He probably wouldn't have been aware of it at the time and was probably loving the ride, but in hindsight with experience he can see what may have been best for himself, especially after seeing how others were treated under Fergie
