Not sure i could do it again

Discussion in 'Sunderland' started by newcastle1 sunderland9, Sep 14, 2011.

  1. I was thinking about going to the stoke game on Sunday. However, I went to every home game bar one in mmcrthy relegation season. I'm worried that if I go i'll start going regularly again and not sure I can go thru another season like that again. Therefore I'm in 2 minds whether to go or should I just wait until the obese geordie fool has gone? Advice please.

Only you can decide mate, alot of people will say you should go no matter what, others will say stick to your guns and stay away unitl bruce has gone. For me if i could give up playing or play and still go )Wife for you lol) and afford to go (both myself and son) i would go every game instead of picking and choosing games (Tickets from School etcc....)

  5. The glory days? I was working when mcarthy was manager i'm not now so have to pick and choose if i go i know i'll keep going leads to strife at home. I never wanted Bruce in 1st place, his managerial record is uselesss wherever he has been, tactically he's clueless. Furthermore, I just don't trust geordies: Lee Clark, Chopra, missing open goal on purpose vs newcastle and now this obese moron. If this guy is not doing this on purpose he is the worst manager that has ever been.

Lee Clark was immense for us.
The fact he made a stupid decision in a pub surrounded by Newcastle fans shouldn't hide that he gave his all in Red and White.

I've missed five home games since the 1969-70 season, and each one has been for circumstances beyond my control..This Sunday that figure will rise to six, because our lass has booked a holiday abroad during the bloody football season...However, I will be back for the home game after that regardless of the results.

So a manager who took a team who stayed up on the last day of the season, to being comfortable the year after, then 10th the year after, without a huge net spend, is the worst manager we have ever had. You make this assumption 4 games into a season which has included a derby game, an away game at a newly promoted side, and 2 games from sides within the sky 4!

If you can't afford to go to every game fine, if you would rather spend your money elsewhere fine, but a real fan would never base whether or not they go on how good we are at the time.

Maybe you are "the worst fan we have ever had!"

you all miss the point, he is a Geordie and it seems they are all bad. I suppose all Norwegians are mass murders and all Welsh sing and do things with sheep.

OK maybe the sheep thing is true

In a weird way, i ended up quite enjoying the McCarthy season, no pressure at games, expecting to lose, and basically just going to the match without the tension.

I remember the Arsenal game, when we all sat there relaxed and applauded this wonderful Arsenal team, who took pity on us and left it at 4, they could have scored 20 if they hadn't just cantered through.

We won't see another season like that, we will win on Saturday.

Go mate, I would love to go, but work commitments kill that one, never mind contract ends in October, got the rest of the season after that, as for your situation, I fully understand, but it will always be your shout, so therefore any tips from supporters on here, dont make a blind bit,,,,,do they? as i said your call.
