I'm an Englishman who doesn't give a **** about the national team. Apparently that means I'm not patriotic enough for some, and the fact that the only games I'm looking forward to at Euro 2012 are Germany-Netherlands, Italy-Spain and those involving Ireland led to a man in my local calling me a '****'.

Is it fair to request that I like anything and everything, so long as it has the English brand name plastered on it?

But we'll let you off given you've had Fat Head installed as manager and he hasn't a clue about football.
 
Ah the old 'you must support your country' BS. Does this mean I also have to support the moors murderers, Fred and Rose West, Nurse Allit, Jack the Ripper, robert Maudsley (on 2nd thoughts considering the people he killed maybe I should) because they were born in a certain geographical area?
 
Nobody knows for sure who Jack the Ripper was for all we know he could well have been top bloke and Ian Brady is Scottish so you don't need to support him anyway.
 
I'm always non-plussed when internationals occur in the English club season but when it comes to the finals I always support England passionately. I couldn't really give a flying **** if anyone else does or doesn't support the team though.
 
I want them to win but I know they´ll get KO´ed sooner or later so I say what´s the point in getting all worked up about it ? I´m more interested in my works 'EURO DREAMTEAM' so as long as my team does well & Germany does´nt win it I´ll be happy.

It's fine, do what you want to do - what really gets to me is that these people who don't support England through these tournaments feel the need to tell us they don't on every single Euro thread - no one gives a ****.

Also - stick to that, don't jump on the bandwagon if we progress to the semi's or something.
 
Typical statements before a major tournament! I've heard countless times ' Im not supporting England, We're s**t and will go out anyway' then as soon as we qualify there in the pubs and walking round in the newly bought shirts claiming otherwise! Yes We've massively under-achieved over recent years but for gods sake back your country!
 
I am one of the few who is Country over club , without a Country you can not have a club , having said that I love Southampton but would rather see England win the World Cup/European Cup over us winning the Premierleague .
