i dont want this to turn into a wenger out vs wenger knows thread. There are plenty for that. What i want to say is what makes people think our next manager will be high profile considering wenger's background prior to arsenal and why would the likes of klopp or pep come to arsenal unless they are given free reign. Just wondering as to whether such demands are practical. I won't be surprised if our next manager is promoted from within or an ex-player though none have proven themselves.

Moyes at Everton springs to mind as another one who operates under strict financial constraints, but still keeps them ticking over, with the odd good cup run and occassionally threatening to break into the top 4. Wenger is now seen in similar sitaution, which is why the board are happy with him.

I don't think the elite managers will come to Arsenal if they have to operate under the same constraints that Wenger has had. So I think you are right when you say that most probably we;d get an ex-player or someone from within. I don't think that would be a move forward if I am honest.

Klopp wont leave for a few more years- he wants to try and win the Champions League with Dortmund.

But I disagree with the op. We're EXACTLY the kind of project that WILL attract top managers.

    1. High profile/Regular Champions league Club
    2. Young players. There's a great unit of young English and foreign players coming through now with this youth system/scouting network.
    3. Stadium
    4. Training facilities - one of the very best in Europe. This will be VERY attractive to potential managers.
    5. Huge fan base.

We're a dream club to manage because although we lack an Abramovic style 'cash cow' everything else is in place for success. When you look at what the club has in place I think we would be one of the most exciting projects for any top manager.

Maybe, maybe not. Trouble is, anyone joining Arsenal is going to have to take a 100K/week squad and do better than 4th place. No rebuilding, no 200M to build a squad. Success must be guaranteed.

Guardiola comes in and finishes 7th, and his career is over. I mean Wenger did it for 15years and he is a crap manager - right? Should make 4th easy - right?

Look at Hughes - is he going to work again after QPR?

On the dot. We have everything in place we just need a few small adjustments and it would be a perfect place to work. In a world where u get sacked for the slightest thing, Wenger has not been questioned for not winning anything for 7 years. No other club wild allow that. The arsenal job is more secure than anything in the civil service!
