Well with the Saints win today, and Spurs currently winning 2-0 we are almost definitely not going to qualify for Europe. To be honest I am happy with that, I don't think we have the squad depth for that. I am happy that we are likely to have secured 8th in the league though
Too soon for Monk in my view, let's see him strengthen next year, and win one of these little cups..........
It's reality though musty, we must win our last two games, and hope those two not win their last game . I'm happy with what we have, securing our premier league status must be the priority.
Nothing good about missing out on a European spot......You have to be in it to win it......If we can win tomorrow then we will be back in the mix....KTF we are not out yet...
In my opinion we are not ready for another run yet so am happy to finish eighth with a record points total. Priority for next season is to stay in the league. As I said before, too much risk for little reward.
History. Not only based on our last foray but most other teams in recent history that are bigger than us struggle with the extra fixtures and their league form suffers.
Great season for you guys. Like us you were told that you would be near relegation (if I remember rightly) and proved the so called pundits are wrong. You have a very good team. As for us hopefully getting in Europe. I can't wait tbh. Sure we will be expected to struggle etc, but then again we were this season as well.
Thanks mate, i am just thinking about how we struggled last season in the Europa cup , and the league season was a struggle. Don't envy you to be honest. Think the both of our teams done brilliantly this season though, we are both where we are fully on merit, we beat teams that we were fully expected to roll over and take a kicking. Think after what happened with all those players who went we were expecting you'd struggle, but you have a cracking manager and quality players, hope like us you don't lose players you want to keep come the transfer window.
Cheers. I think we will lose 2 (Schneiderlin and Alderweireld) but that will be about it. We were told if we get into Europe there will be a fairly large squad stregthening by Koeman. We will need it as atm it would just be us playing our youngsters in it most of the time. I hope if not us it is you that manages to break up the top 5. It's about time some new teams did.
Well, as someone who is a lifelong Saints supporter and lives near Swansea, I think we're both great!
Both clubs are run very well indeed, and both deserve the season they have had, and both have been in the top 10 all season, that in its self is an achievement, would love us to get our academy up to the standard of the Saints.........
