That need a new coach, another dreary, slow, awful to watch boring england team. A Southgate masterpiece, the blokes a fraud and if we don't replace him we'll look back at that squad like we do with Erikson's squad and say how the feck did we not win anything

Weird one. I wouldn't even have Southgate at Sunderland. I really don't understand how he is in that job.

He’s cost us the last two tournaments and will do the same with the next one
Horrendous tactically with the best group of players we’ve had for a long time.

I've not been paying much attention to his career but for anyone who rates Southgate, how would you finish the sentence "Southgate is a good manager because..."

I'm not saying there isn't anything it's just that if there is something I don't know what it is.

He's basically an FA company man who has been decent for PR.

The fact he wears the mantle "England's most successful manager since Alf Ramsey" speaks volumes.

There isn't success in losing unless it leads to winning, and until he wins something he is no more or less successful than Sam Allardyce as England manager in my view.

Just read up elsewhere that he has only won 4 games out of 25 against teams in the top 10 of rankings .
Your right he's not as successful as some fans think he is

IMO he’s turned more fans off watching England than any other manager in our history. I don’t even know they are playing now, must be the most boring, bloke in football.

It absolutely infuriates me when folk come out and say ‘he’s taken us further than anyone in the last 2 tourneys’ and that blah blah blah.

He was a good call to steady the ship when the changes the FA accelerated the talent we were producing. He should have been 2 years max.

We have got further last 2 tournaments ‘in spite’ of him. Italy were on the ropes and I’ll never forgive him deciding to let them have Verratti play keep ball at 1-0 when we could have finished them off. The pain I felt that night was deep and real because it was ours, genuinely it was ours.

Again, World Cup, when he finally allows the breaks off v France we almost get it back.

We have TWO generations of talent here. It can’t be wasted.france closest to us and they are coming BIG with their next generation, our time is now and it will be a genuine scandal if we don’t win one of the next 2.

France are developing better at the back, CBs to burn coming though, but the power we have midfield and attack is staggering, we must take advantage.

My only issue with him going is, who do we get? There isn’t a stand out candidate unless we go foreign.

That said, there are several that I’d have over him. I’d have given it to Potter after the Euros failure.

I believe Bellingham will carry this team to a title. I genuinely believe in spite of Southgate and another inept display last night this summer is there for the taking.

By the next World Cup in 2 year we will be fighting France, Spain and Brazil. They are going through mild transition now.

For this Euros, talent wise, depth wise and options wise our fight is against only one team, ourselves.

We should be destroying teams. Absolutely ripping them apart and unplayable with Bellingham, Foden, Saka and Kane. Rice and Mainoo behind.

What a squad of players we have and this isn’t ’prettiest wife syndrome’, as we’ve had historically.

Was interesting listening to talksports South American expert during the week about how the press and public in Brazil where saying we where a better team than them with more attacking threat in midfield and up front.

Southgate needs to take the handbrake off

Since he became manager I've been utterly disinterested about our national team, as has been said he's the FAs yes man who couldn't inspire anyone.
He strangles these young lads and we'll win nowt with Southgate at the helm, he hasn't got the balls for it.

He's Gus Poyet in his 'hold what we have' phase. Terrified of taking a risk.

Didn't watch it as I rarely watch England now! Mainly the finals and thats it!

Couldn't agree more about Italy in the Euros, we could have finished them off but his boring cautious football was easily overcome by a batter manager!

He is holding this team back with his selections of players he trusts! He needed to be ****ed off after the euros!

He has been linked to Man Utd, but I reckon he'll rock up at Beitar Jerusalem, seems to suit him better.
