Today's result will add a bit of realism after last Sunday. Liked Pearsons level headed after match appraisal as usual. Onwards to burnley next week and over a quarter of the way to the magical 40 points ! I for one am enjoying the ride
Yeah, after two good wins maybe we started to expect too much. Survival still has to be the minimum requirement but from what we've seen so far we should achieve that, today's result is probably a good reality check. Burnley next and another three points will take us another step towards the safety line but we've not to panic or get too put out when results like this happen. I'm sure it will happen again between now and the end of the season.
Were joint 7th and above Liverpool who finished 2nd last year and spent over 100M on new players Im delighted with out start especially with the fixtures we have played
I got it very wrong, I´m glad to say, because I thought come the end of Sept we´d be in the bottom 3 with 2-4 pts I think I said. I posted this on another thread. If we´d of lost last week & won this we´d of been happy with the way the season is going. I thought we´d of done well to get a point v Palace tbh because they are a good team & imo will stay up with out a problem. One game at a time must be our way of tackling this season.
8 points every 6 games would result in an excellent first season back in the premiership. Will get harder now as any surprise factor will have gone. So far so good.
A good thread. Lots of realistic views and expectations. Reallity hits hard in the Prem. Roll with the punches boys!
... undone by a physical approach but could (and perhaps should) have been one perhaps two up by half-time - need to be more clinical - but it will be our home form that defines our season and, so far, that has been great ...
According to the BBC report, the first half was "a turgid first 45 minutes containing little excitement" and Leicester, "Having shown little threat before the goals... were unable to muster anything after them." Palace were "too good" for us too apparently according to this London based writer. Naturally, there's no mention of the penalty claims. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29289924
