    I know some go wild
    About the new ´style´
That Swans have now brought to the Prem,
    The latest, old ´Arry
    Whose vocabulary
Was most ardent in praise of them

    But watching Swansea
Is not my cup of tea
    Despite winning plaudits this year,
    For their style, so-called
    Of total football
    Although pretty, doesn´t get anywhere

    Possession´s okay
    But when on the day
They´re one or two goals in arrears,
    Without a plan B
    Where they do actually
Try to score, would drive me to tears

    In their latest game
It was all much the same
    When Newcastle visited Wales,
    Played at walking pace
    With a defence in place
What they did was just to no avail

    Now it seems to me
    Quite extraordinary
    In such circumstances as those,
    Not to try, or do
    Something slightly new
Before the game comes to a close

    That we have PL
    Who by no means dwells
On one system or mode of play,
    I´m so thankful for
    And pleases me more
    Than a one-system-man any day

    And though there´s no right
    Or wrong way, we might
Find more success his way, at that,
    For a system switch
    Five times on the pitch
In one game, is hard to combat. :) OTBC

A good point very well made RBF, pretty to watch for a while, but once worked out, it's very easy to overcome! I still wish them every success, their fans are a credit and welcome on our board any time they choose!

Another 'masterpiece' from your good self, sir!

    <cheers>

I happen to think that they are already being sussed out, and next year, if they still can´t mix it up a bit, I fear that they might struggle. Yesterday they were hit by two bits of clinical counter-attacking, and the rest of the time Newcastle were quite happy to let them have the ball and fiddle faddle around with it, it´s alright trying to emulate Real Madrid, but when you haven´t got the players they have, it may not bring the same sort of success.

You are right sir, but I fear you may have just upset them! They prefer to be compared to Barcelona than Real Madrid!

    As usual great, RBF!

Saw in the paper this morning that Newcastle had 32% possession. Proves that possession isn't everything!

I remember last season, we played them at Carrow Road about a week after the media took notice of Swansea's passing play saying how great it was and how they had made 800 passes in one game. This made me worry, but then I saw them and the reason they had managed to get so many passes was because they weren't going anywhere and passing it between their full back and centre back at least three times before doing anything worthwhile with it!

Only three defeats at home though which is impressive!

Yes, I've always been told it's only 9/10 of the law.

I think Swansea will learn from this for next season and develop a plan b. not sure about them being found out though, the high tempo passing will still get them enough points at home especially

You may be right max, but I tend to think that they overdo it a bit, they certainly did yesterday.

Great poem RBF but you have it all wrong Swansea are the best footballing side in the Premiership and they have the best young manager who will be nicked if any of the big teams dump thiers, our Lambo does not have a clue and we play rubbish football, please ensure this meaasge gets put out then the only person predicting the end of the Lambo reign will be Columike FACT LOL

still cant believe how good yesterdays game was really entertaining would have been so much better with a good ref and linos.
