As it stands we are the only team to have made a significant outlay for players. Im supprised some of the other clubs either fighting it out at the top (Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham) or the ones fighting relegation have not dipped into the market. Still 5 days to go but do you see anymore significant transfers happening?

I don't care if we don't see a lot of players, just the right ones.

Cisse was a brilliant signing, another one like that and I'll be over the moon.

    Samba would make my month.

Think we will hold onto our players dont know where this unfounded faith comes from but cant see anyone paying the mega bucks required to capture our best players. Think the club sees a realistic possibility of europe and an outside chance of the CL and will not want to jeapordise that with outgoing transfers

No we don't. We just not to stop playing a high line.

Colo isn't slow, Saylor isn't slow. Our defence is solid as a rock when we play a normal line, we only concede a significant amount of goals when we play the high line.

We could do with a reasonably quick defender. Colo is pretty slow, always has been and won't get any quicker. Just because he is reasonably agile it doesn't mean he is quick. Saylor isn't slow for a big man, but he still isn't at all quick. He is quicker than the others IMO but still not quick. We could do with a quickish CB as Colo cover/competition.
He's an incredibly average CB. He is strong. But he is a complete donkey. In terms of being a defender he is possibly only just better than Willo. Also it would mean we have 3 'big' CB's and still just the one covering defender. We need an all rounder not a costly donkey that wouldn't improve our side.

It was about £200m last January window. I almost feel sorry for the SSN lot. They really build up the window and then sweet f.a. has happened so far. They are so desperate for something to talk about they are almost exploding.

Hope I haven't tempted fate here.

Colo is not slow! He is not!

He's quick over a shorter distance and average pace over long distance.

We hardly conceded at the start of the season when we didn't play high line. You only need quick center backs if you are playing a high line, so we should stop playing... a high line!

Colo over long distance isn't quick I agree, but if we play our defence in a lower line, where there's less distance to run in on goal, Colo can catch up to most players with his acceleration.

    And Samba.

Samba is not an average CB at all, he's an extremely solid CB who's a threat on either end of the pitch. He just needs a good team around him.

He was part of a Blackburn side that were solid in mid table a few years ago and used t hold off most sides at home, it's not his fault things have gone down the ****ter for them.

He just needs a partner that compliments him, Dann and Samba are two similar. Him and Colo would be great together.

I know its quite funny how little they have had to talk about. Add to that the Cisse deal was done and dusted in about 3 hours.

Cant see another 180m being spent but am supprised that Chelsea and Arsenal havent added to their squads considering how poor a season they are having and the need for them to be in the champions league. Looks like the first time in a long time one of those two will miss out

unsure about samba granted he is a beast in the air at both ends. With the exception of Saylor our defence dont chip in with many goals. Would have preffered cahill who is more of an all-rounder and has more age on his side. Think we can get better than samba for £8m
