Not just Mad Dog that doesn't like the youth players. Ashley Miller and Jack Parter have been released by the club. Before you mention Dack or Hessenthaler then remember Dack has been around the first team for a while and Hess would play because of who his Dad is.
Clearly they just haven't cut it, when a youth player is released or sold it isn't as simple as an anti-youth manager. It says on the kent online article that Ashley has a chance to go play in america maybe in the collegiate system which must be worth doing and maybe Parter has simply not made it, to be honest its probably for the best would you rather keep players that wouldn't ever make it into the first team till they are well into their twenties to then only be released with no real chance of finding another club or leave now and have the chance to pursue a career in non-league or maybe even pick up another profession. A lot of players get pro contracts but never quite make it doesn't have to be some sinister undertone to it.
Liverpool were looking at Miller when he first made the team, you can't say they don't know much about football.
They look at lots of players I'd probably say on average for every 40/50 players they 'look at' probably 1 is actually signed. Has been nowhere near the first team recently and was simply a matter of time till he was let go.
GPL, do you really think Hess is only in the side because of his Dad? And were Liverpool actually interested in Ashley Miller? Did they ever say that? Or was it just paper or agent talk? Anyway, good luck to Ashley & Jack. Hope they are successful wherever their lives take them.
