What TF is doing for QPR could so easily have been West Ham instead, he tried to buy the club and wanted to invest in them in exactly the same way as us. The Hammers can swallow that bitter little pill along with the rank goo they pour on their pie and mash! They had their chance and blew it, now they are funded by w*nkers, literally. If we all stopped buying jazz mags they'd go out of business. I insist on purchasing non-Sullivan/Gold art pamphlets myself, doing my bit to undermine the empire!

Writing an article just shows how jealous they are, especially that plank with the website writing that we were going down every week.

They are the new Norwich for me.

Jealous of Queens Park Rangers and Tony Fernandes? Not by a long way! I'm somewhat amused by some of the West Ham fans being taken in by Tony Fernandes and Queens Park Rangers perceived 'ambition' based on QPR's activity in the transfer window.

Indeed after Rangers signed the 31-year-old Ji- Sung Park, a player Sir Alex Ferguson deemed as surplus to requirements, we were treated to a grinning Fernandes, hailing Park's signing as a show of 'intent.' That was followed up by an announcement that Rangers are 'looking' to build a thirty five thousand stadium.

Nothing against Queens Park Rangers as a football club, but living down on the South Coast, I've heard it all before, at Portsmouth Football to be precise. Ironically a club similar in size to Rangers. It feels like yesterday that Pompey announced ambitious plans of a 35,000 stadium overlooking a water front. They had the same philosophy as Rangers, signing ageing players on lengthy and expensive contracts...leaving the club with a crippling and unmanageable wage bill. The rest is history, as they say.

In a way, I can understand West Ham fans' concern, as we need to get players in as quick as possible. Being linked persistently to Hollywood style targets daily, which deep down in our hearts, we know we haven't got a snow balls chance in hell of landing, is frustrating. In the end the board become the target of our frustration. Even Fareham was starting to become frustrated......calling Gold and Sullivan all sorts of names.

The target has been to boost the team with five quality signings .Well we've already got Mohamed Diame, who has just turned twenty five. A player who both Manchester United and Liverpool tried to sign at some stage, a coup in anyone's language. I think if you asked a neutral who got the better deal, West Ham with Diame or Rangers with Park, I think it's fair to say West Ham would win by a landslide! Diame is six years younger for starters !

Yes, I know that as far as transfers are concerned, ANYTHING can happen as far as West Ham are concerned .But by all intents and purposes ...the 25-years-old Modibo Maiga, the Sochaux striker, is looking like he is on his way to West Ham, yet another GOOD signing. Yes it's not Elia or Krasic and the rest, but make no mistake, this boy can play, he is pacey, strong and knows where the goal is. He is at his best when playing just off the main striker. Maiga is also a lover of bicycle kicks!

Maiga was sought after by Newcastle United on the recommendation of their chief scout, Graham Carr, who knows a thing about footballers! Indeed so highly is Carr respected in the game, that Newcastle United had to tie him down on a three year contract, to prevent him from being poached by other clubs.

What is jokerman Tony Fernandes answer to that? He's trying to sign ANOTHER pensioner, the 32-year-old and injury prone Craig Bellamy! How much do you think that's going to work out to teflon Tony? Fernandes in charge at the Boleyn Ground? I wouldn't even have him selling programmes at the Boleyn Ground! All Fernandes has done is assemble a squad of ageing mercenaries, on huge wages! Come Christmas time, they will start picking up injuries and the wheels will come off big style for QPR and Fernandes.

With the signing of Diame and the probable signing of Maiga, added to the good early season form of Sam Baldock, a player whom i rate highly. As well as the most encouraging attitude and form of the wonderfully talented Ravel Morrison, leaves me full of optimism for the new season.

Indeed I'm sticking to my early season prediction, that West Ham will be the surprise team of the season. Yes we DO need another three quality signings, added to Diame and the likely Maiga, get them in and we will surprise friend and foe alike.<whistle>

The most important thing is getting quality and not quantity. With our budget its not easy and it may take time to get the right players in, we have got to be 100% sure the player will fit in before we sign a them.

West Ham simply cannot afford make mistakes in this transfer market, every penny is vital to West Ham United Football Club. But I'm confident that in Messrs Gold,Sullivan and Allardyce, who have the ability to deliver the players we need. Jealous of QPR? Not by a long way! We are more than a football club, we're a way of life! COYI'S!!

Christ someone is feeling a little insecure. He probably reads it every morning just to convince himself. He sure sounds bitter. Not surprised. If a wealthy qpr fan bought another club, turned it around and started rubbing it in people's faces, I'd feel the same way.

I live in Oxford, watched West Ham v Oxford in a pre season friendly, they were awful with a strong team out. They are 8 players short of staying up personally.

I used to think of West Ham in the same way I i think of an old uncle, always check on how they are doing. Am i the only one who as of last season hate them and their arrogance? I hope they fall straight back down!

They've done nothing yet to adress their defence who shipped goals at an alarming rate in the championship. More likely done the opposite with replacing Green with Jaaskelainen.
Sure candidate for the drop imo.

What a loser!!!!!! FFS get your facts straight, Fergie did not want Park to leave and he joined us for regular football. Not only would he walk into your team but he cost us barely anything and we will recoup the investment through his commercial value, he is Beckham in the Asian market.
Allardyce and Pulis are the merchants of the turdiest brands of football the Prem has ever seen and you WILL struggle this season, just like we did last time around. Do want you to stay up though, more London derbies to get stuck into. Bearing in mind we did Spurs, Arsenal and Chelsea at HQ last season you are not really a concern. I would focus on staying up and not wishing what night have been, me thing you doth protest too much!!!!

What a bitter and ridiculous article. Okay, we would like to have been signing younger players but I'm sure Hughes knows what he's doing.

And as for Park being "surplus to Fergie's requirements", what the hell is wrong with that? If he wasn't, he wouldn't be available <doh>

How in the name of Christ is any Club supposed to sign a player from a top Club if they don't want to let him go?!!!

    Hi and welcome Tim <ok>

I actually feel much the same way. My 7th-9th grade English teacher was a West Ham fan and we had a lot of great banter during the early nineties, and I've always looked out for their results ever since because of him. But after the last twelve months I also can't stand them, almost Norwich'esque :)

What's with the "It's a way of life" nonsense at the end of the article?! Watching cr*p football and being relegation fodder for pretty much all the seasons they were in the prem. West Ham fans are more deluded than Liverpool fans. I remember Robbie Savage baiting them on 606 asking West Ham fans to tell him what the "West Ham way" of playing football is, as he (and I) couldn't ever remember them playing good football.

On the other side of the coin:

Good to see biased fans opinoins aren't going out of existence
