Too hard to pick who WILL win the title this year, but I don't think this year is our year.

    Next year is our year.

Blame it on injuries, blame it on inconsistencies, covid, or just the hangover from winning so darn much last year... But we look a shadow of our former selves.

No doom and gloom... We will finish top 4 and we'll be back in with a chance next year... But we're not establishing ourselves this year. Losing opportunities, and frankly our current position in the table flatters us. Even before the injuries started puking up we weren't as good as last year. The injuries don't help though... And I guess law of averages said we were due a season of injuries after two years of being fairly lucky in that department.

I don't know who will win, but it won't be us, and it sure as hell won't be Spurs either.

Nah I don't agree, not at all.

We're joint top with possibly the worst injury crisis ever known to man.

Of we didn't have those we'd be way ahead of the pack now imho.

We're not out of nothing until we're out of something.

I wouldn't mind us going out early in the cl and cups tbh, I'd understand us concentrating on the league if that's what's happens.

There's definitely been some positives. Some of the kids have looked alright and the experience will be invaluable. Jones particularly has slipped right in.

The problem is working back all these injured people will disrupt the continuity as much as their injuries caused in the first place...

... But my main problem is the hunger just doesn't look there this time.

We aren't good enough to be considered clear favourites for sure, so I can understand the opinion

Who ever does win the league this year, it will feel like they're the best of a bad bunch.

However, call it blind faith or whatever you want, I still believe we can win the league this season.

I think you're hunger comment is harsh.

I dont think there's any lack of hunger, Bobby looked dogshit for weeks but still had the desire to try.

Theres also no accusing the young fellas like Williams Jones and alike of lacking hunger in thier breakthrough seasons.

Maybe what your seeing is a bit part team, some maybe a little down that key players are out for a long time. Trying to play together and trying to find a rhythm.

I think you need a spliff mate

Not to diminish Leicester's achievement, but it does feel a lot like that year a year when the big guys all shrugged and Leicester took advantage.

... And I do believe we can win, just don't think we will. Last year I felt good about us all year... This year I just feel uneasy. We're not a bad team, not in crisis, just don't look quite it this year. There again, does anyone?

Thats where I'm confused.. "just don't look quite at it this year"

I mean is it not an obvious result of our injuries that the level would inevitably drop a notch or two.

    Or is that just me?

Daft to even guess at it, were capable of winning the title and there's nobody head and shoulders better than us so we have a chance. That's all you want at this point in the season.

Transfer window might also be interesting and players like AOC and Thiago to come back. I like our chances.

I mean really Man City should be bossing the league, considering our current situation and the fact that Chelsea can't seem to work out what defending is, but they seem to be in more of a mess than us. At least we can put our iffy games down to injuries and a paper thin squad atm, not really sure whats wrong with them.

I'd hate Spurs to win, just can't stand them and with maureen as well.

If not us Leicester maybe or Southampton just because a certain fourm member would be so confused about them winning rather than being relegated <laugh>

I think we have got as good a chance as any one. I still think if we finish above City we’ll win.

The last few weeks have shown how much the defence affects the performance of the attack. A less than solid defence gets the midfield focussing more in defending instead of providing ammunition for the attack. The earlier we get some CBs the earlier we’d get our team functioning again. We simply cannot rely on our home results.

There is a sense of entitlement from some fans (not on here) in that now that we've won it were going to dominate for years, it's simply not that easy and we will have to work harder than ever to win it again. We've been hit by injuries but it happens no point crying about it. If we approach every game with the right attitude then we'll go close again but I don't like this defeatist "we lost Virgil" or the "we're the best in time world" attitudes. One game at a time please, let's just get back to that.

At the start of the season - before the injuries started, I felt it would be a lot harder this season than last. I never expected us to walk it again and like I said, I'm surprised that we're still keeping pace despite all the injuries. They just keep happening, but it won't be forever and if we can stay in touch until things settle we'll still be in with a chance.

Remember 5/6 years ago when we were hanging around in 6th and were really happy with a top 4 place.

Now look at us, joint top and prob still favourites for the league and disappointed we aren’t more points clear.

Think this season will be who ever can go on a decent run post Christmas and potentially open up a gap but honestly thing with 5/6 games to go could be in situation where 3/4 teams have a realistic chance. As long as we’re one of them then all good

I think this is harsh. If we had our full team, we'd be walking the league. In fact, if we only had a handful of players out, we'd still walk the league.

We need to apply context - yes, injuries happen to every team but not the extent that we have faced. There were a few games where we literally had only 2 first choice starters in 7 positions across defence and midfield. This is madness. As a result, we're now overworking the players who have stayed fit.

No doubt that this season will be tougher for us but it's not because we lack desire, mentality or quality. It's simply because of injuries which is down to sh*tty luck.

If we had the wrong mentality, we would not even be joint top of the league. Its actually incredible that we're still joint top of PL and qualified to the next round of CL.
