Liking Caulker a lot though. Funny cos I was told on this forum 'Mutch Ado About Nothing' was the better signing of the two!!

Not sure who on here said Mutch was a better player for you at £6M than Caulker at £8M, but I recall the general feeling was that both had their weaknesses and were far from perfect.

As good as he could be, Caulker could lose his man too often and let a few past him in our season up there, but nevertheless at just 22, a good CB prospect who should only get better in that position. Mutch on the other hand had all the skills in his box but all too often blew hot and cold. He was a bit of a sicknote and could go missing during a game when the chips were down. His head could go down and he ambled about so much he made Whitts look quick.

Some said they didn't want Mutch to go but at the reported £6M, I'm glad he did. However, given the crap way we're playing in midfield this season, I do miss his driving runs at defenders and would take him back right now just for that.

The biggest problem for us would be that Slade probably wouldn't pick him anyway as it might affect his "system".

Good reply mate, recognise a lot what you say. You've done well getting shot of him at that price IMO. Weak player lacking in character. Love Caulker though!
