Well done to Craig Gardner for this: http://www.thisisstaffordshire.co.u...-brave-Danyl/story-16446440-detail/story.html I'm sure there are plenty of other examples of things like this that just don't get reported. I noticed on Twitter over the last week Sonny Bradley sold some shirts to raise money for charity then matched the amount raised himself.
What I like about this is that it's not about the amount, £500 is pennies when you're on £20k + a week but I love how it happened... just out of the blue having lunch and giving a **** about who you're sitting next to. Clearly shows heart. I think this shows a lot more than some big shot donating £20,000 to some random charity, it's more personal.
There's a lot of footballers who generously give away money but the Media would rather pick up on how ridiculous their wages are (Even though it's true). Players like Drogba who invests in his own Country helping build Hospitals and pay for treatments against disease etc, Even Koren has the 8RK Foundation. Not as beneficial as Drogba's, but he's still delegating money elsewhere rather than specifically using it for himself. Well done to Craig Gardner anyway, may wake some people up to not put all footballers under "money hound" category.
Agreed. I agree with the whole point of the thread too. It annoys me that people think all footballers are terrible people.
