At the Cup final Barbie here in France, my mate's mate (a Gooner) told me he was approached at work by a colleague who said "I see Arsenal are playing in the FA Cup final this weekend against a small team" To which he replied "No, we're playing Hull City, they have 20,000 season ticket holders and would smash half of French league 1" Good lad
Lots of their supporters were very humble in victory! At least the ones I spoke too after the game. I stayed over and even late into sat night when everyone was pissed I was getting a lot of hugs from them saying we did the cup proud! They were ****ting it at 2 down.
Couple of lads in their early 20's and a family of 5 on our train home. Hand shakes and honest appraisals all round. "without Cazorla and the ref, you'd have been lifting the trophy on 90 minutes". One of the lads was getting really mad about the 'foul' by Fryatt when he was through, said he hated soft decisions like that.
My brother in law is a gooner and was at the game. My in laws are from London so fair play I suppose. Anyway he said, and I quote "Not being gay or anything but Hull deserved to win. f**king great performance from your boys" They're not all bell ends.
Have to agree, I was talking to two on the tube, and they were full of praise for us, and said we gave them a hell of a game.
Have to agree I sat with four arse, nil lads who had nothing but good words to say about City and our supporters. Have to admit to feeling very ucked off when I realised they were Gooners at the beging off the game, all end well with hand shakes all round when they left, before any City fans mind. Felt a bit like a rugby union game.
Outside of this forum and apart from those twats who got thrown out near me in 505, every Arsenal fan i've met since I got down to London on Thursday have been great lads/lasses. I'm down here for most of summer, so hopefully they carry on the same way.
Same here - handshakes all round on tube back to Kings Cross and later same blokes saw me on the train back to Stansted and got chatting. Good lads.
They were cool with us. Before the game they kept coming up and taking photos with us. I dont know if it was because they dont see many City fans or it was because most of us were actually from Hull and they all seemed to be Americans. During the game even when they were loosing they were joking around with us and were good sports. Lots of people came up and shook our hands after the game.
