    Now then..

I hate talking football on the internet, to many people wind me up..

    but..

Not a bad start to the season, playing good football in 3+1 hard games. I do think the foundations are there but I worry about the strike force, how a Jordan Rhodes would have complemented our play. Heads up lads, it is all about opinions and I have a lot of faith in my team for a good season..

SAFC season is all about the day, the match (whatever the result) and the fact we are still here to yell Ha'way the Lads..

I think were doing ok, we need a win in the league to get things going and I don't think Gus quite knows who the best 11 is just yet. I think Giacc needs a place in the team, everytime he comes on we look much more creative. Even Gomez looks a more creative player than say Larsson who has done nothing wrong but is solid rather than spectacular.

Were still probably a couple of players short, Vergini looks a centre back doing a great job as a right back and I think he will eventually move into the middle. A good attacking right back would help us and were going to need to replace JOS who has been a great servant but is looking very slow these days.

Definite signs of good things to come in my opinion. However, we need to get into winning ways asap, hopefully away to Burnley..

Unless we get our first win soon we've had a ****e start. All teetering, slipping and slide on a razor edge like marlons snail.

No, its not a great start, but given our early fixtures and 1 bad result, its not a bad start.
We do need that first win though. It'll calm nerves in the changing room!

I'm more worried about our attacking midfield mate.
We know the strikers can score if they are given service. (Well the jury is still out on Altidore in Red and White. :p )
Rodwell isn't back to anywhere near what we know he could be.
And Larsson is still our weak spot, he is slow and ponderous most of the time and allows players to pass him at will.
The commentator on the stream I watched the other day could have had "And Larsson has relinquished possession again!" on loop.
Far to often our play breaks down at the attacking midfield area.
This means our forwards are feeding off scraps.
Mind I still think we need new blood up there too. :p

But like you mate I have seen much worse in our beloved shirts.

And getting a draw from the Spuds after they absolutely pummelled us felt like a win. Hahhaha
Cant believe Pochettino sat back and tried to hold for the win, instead of going all out for more goals.

There is more hope with the shape and ability of the new team, but we must remember it is a different midfield system with more gifted players. Another half dozen games before GP finds his preferred team.

Aye, there's a feel good factor about the place despite no win yet.

We are lucky to have such creative options in midfield. Gus hasn't played his best starting 11 yet and there's more to come from Rodwell after he gets more minutes under his belt.

We have game changers on the bench in Giac, Gomez and Buckley even though they deserve a start.

One win will kick-start our campaign imo.

Just about recovered after a 3 day session..

I was with some Spurs fans, watching the match, couldn't help rubbing it in about 6 title wins etc,

I'm quite happy with the start of the season, this team has potential..Poyets a clever ****er really

It's an okay start, but need to lift confidence/belief of the team by getting our first win on board ASAP. We have to have a proper go at it against Burnley.

Just got to keep the faith he can get the right blend in midfield. That's what is missing. Our chosen forward will score given the chances, and our midfield has plenty goals in it.

but Larsson and Rodwell together is too ponderous/not-match-fit to be playing together right now. I'd only have one of those 2 in there, alongside Gomez or maybe Alvarez. Gomez has more creative prowess to create chances, not sure if Alvarez is ready to step up just yet and he might get physically battered by Burnley.

Giacc should also start, Connor up top and Jones at right back. For all the good work Vergini does, he's a centre half not a right back, which shows up as he can get lost positionally in each game.

I personally don't think there will be a "best 11" strictly speaking. I think there will be sides that we can pick to play in certain ways against certain opposition and that is what Gus will want. Just my opinions of course.

Enjoyed it so far and looking forward to the rest of it.

    Disagree mate.
The top teams can chop and change as they have world class players slotting in, and even then they don't get it right every time.
I really think we as a team with our squad, need to sort out our best starting eleven and have others trying to force their way in.
