..For a bit of fun on a wet and miserable Monday and following the PFA awards last night. Who would the great and good of NOT 606 vote for in the following categories as there outstanding performers in the league this season. 1. Player of the season 2. Young player of the season 3. Manager of the season 4. Goal of the season 5. Team of the season My votes are as follows. 1. Joe Hart Man City. best keeper in the league, vital saves at vital times, installs confidencee in his defence for both club and country. 2. Sergio Augero Man City.just a truly world class performer, no theatrics just goes out and delivers. 3. Alan Pardew Newcastle. Just a brilliant job at Newcastle on a limited budget, hated by the Geordies on arrival. His signings in Cabeye,Tiotte and Cisse show what can be achieved with a good manager at the helm. deserve C/L football next season. 4. Peter Crouch. His little tap in vs Blackburn will be shown for years absolute screamer. 5. Norwich City. Strong favorites to go down at the start, Paul Lambert hasn't spent alot of money on the squad relying on the player's who got them up last season. Organisied and stubborn, won't get the popular vote as they are just "little" Norwich.
mine would be: 1. RVP for playe rof the year. he has single handedly saved wenger's job, got them to the cl spot and topped the scoring charts. 2. Young player is wellbeck. If not for him utd would be also rans.. not a big impact BUT I can't bring myself to pick a 35mil player... or a 24 year old for an award i think should go to young players. 3. Hmmmmm... its too soon to award manager of the year... neither ferguson nor mancini deserve it so pardew is agood shout and so is rodgers but kenny could win two bloody cups and if that aint worth a shout nothing is. 4. not sure there were a few like again rvp volleys and such. 5. I would like to say swansea but they've fallen off a cliff. newcastle should be as they are a REAL team by the look of things. city are a bunch of individuals.
1) Player has to be RVP... Pulled a club up from the depths of such a bad start to the season to top 4. Plus his leadership in getting the team to drag themselves up in a team bereft of leaders is also worth noting... 2) Young Player is a tough one... Not many have had outstanding season imo but i do like Kelly for us, also Walker at Spurs who won it but i would go for James McLean at Sunderland... 3) Again this is hard... If KD wins the cup double how can you go against that... If Di Matteo wins the Champs league hard to go against... Citeh or Mancs win the league then again you have to consider them... But cups require a bit of luck, and top 4 is a given for some clubs, so with that in mind Pardew, Rodgers or Lambert deserve it... I would go with Pardew though as its so hard to break into the top 4 with... 4) Well there arnt many from Liverpool players thats for sure...!!! Artetas free kick v Villa last week was a stunner as were the many volleys that RVP has struck. A few 25+ passes towards a goal from Swansea and which one to pick from all of the goals that Citeh have scored... So im going for one that just meant a lot to me at the time and thats the goal Dirk Kuyt scored v the mancs in the FA Cup... maybe not the best, but it still gave me the hope that we could salvage something out the season after all the carnage of Suarez, bad results and just terrible form this year... We can still compete, and will continue to compete, its just when is it going to happen for a season... 5) I suppose that if Newcastle get a top 4, and i think they will, they have to be considered... I also have to say that Roberto Martinez has done a great jop in keeping the faith with his squad to play the way he wants, and to believe they can do it... Wins against Liverpool, mancs, Aresnal and should have beaten Chavski tells you he has great mental strength and great self belief... Coin toss between Pardew and Martinez... Just a slight nod towards Pardew...
1. For me It has to be Robin van persie. Has been awesome in front of goal, and has done the impossible this season by not getting injured for at least 5 months. 2. Young player of the season for me is Welbeck, has been a revelation for Man Utd and has kept the likes of Berbatov and hernandez out of the team. 3. has to be Pardew, with brendan Rogers coming a close second 4. there have been a lot of good goals this season, but I am going to be completely biased and go for Sebastian Coates screamer against QPR.............What is the Uraguayan for, ' Thats how its done boys!' 5. team of the season for me goes to either Norwich, Swansea or newcastle........As Newcastle are still performing strongly and getting better even, i give it to them
RVP. Aguero and certainly NOT Walker. Pardew. Take your pick from RVP's collection really which show skill, technique and clinical finishing. Please not Crouch (although he'll win it), he didn't even look to see where the keeper was, just twatted it towards goal and hoped. Newcastle.
1. Player of the season - RVP, nothing more to be said 2. Young player of the season, David De Gea, after a terrible start this lad has improved no end, 11 clean sheets with no settled defence for much of the season and no Vidic. 3. Manager of the season, would say Fergie but hes getting manager of the premier league this year and Alan Pardew has shown hes more than worthy of the manager of the year award 4. Goal of the season, way too many really, Nanis goals in the community shield though was a good one. 5. Team of the season, Man Utd, written off again, average side, injuries galore.
1. Player of the season - Van Persie 2. Young player of the season - Kyle Walker 3. Manager of the season - Alan Pardew 4. Goal of the season - Peter Crouch 5. Team of the season - Newcastle
1. Player of the year: Van Persie, pretty easy one. 2. Young player of the year: How about we pick a player who doesn't have much experience for this category? Aguero is a bit unfair for me because he's been playing in the top leagues and competitions for about 6 years now. For me its between Joe Allen, Danny Welbeck, Chesney and Walker. I would go for Szczesny out of them. 3. Paul Lambert 4. Coates against QPR, outstanding technique. 5. Newcastle, pretty easy one really.
Please not Walker...he's average. Kelly is a better RB but because the former plays for the media's beloved Redknapp, he's Englands next RB.
1. Player of the season - RVP 2. Young player of the season - Aguero 3. Manager of the season - Lambert 4. Goal of the season - Van Persie's volley against Everton 5. Team of the season - Newcastle
1. Player of the season - Aguero 2. Young player of the season - None 3. Manager of the season - Alan Pardew 4. Goal of the season - Ben Arfa 5. Team of the season - Chelsea (if they win the champs league)
