Congrats on Norwich and their promotion to the ££££ league So lets draw comparisons. Size of club ~ about the same. Prospective financial backing ~ Norwich no where near FFC. Monies spent when both clubs relegated 2014 ~ about the same so whats the difference Management ability & chairman's ambition. It appears in the last few weeks we seem to be associated with every clubs cast offs so much that we have our own postees singing the praises of the freebee dross which clubs will be casting off. As far as the soccer world is concerned Khan has to be taught to suck eggs, a passport to the premiership guarantees a club between 120/130m. So where do we start 1, a savvy manager with contacts. 2, spend about 10/20 mil to get us there. Prem status attained then we could spent at least 100m consolidating a top table seat this wouls still allow Khan to pocket a sizeable amount of cash. My prediction for next season promotion candidates. QPR DERBY WOLVES HULL. MIDDLESBOROUGH BLACKBURN. Us if status quoi maintained relegation strugglers/mid table.
Think you have a point there. Norwich kept most of their team while we didn't have any experienced player but Parker. Overall they way our club is managed at all levels is outrageous. Unless we get some quality players and a manager who can read the game I don't expect much either.
Now we know the teams coming down and up I stand by my last thoughts that unless something drastic happens in the summer we will struggle to get into the playoff places for a few seasons. We can only hope for better. The 3 coming down from the Premier aren't the greatest of grounds to go to, Burnley and Hull are miserable and the Loft is built for midgets only, but I'll look forward to the 3 coming up from Div1, MK Dons will be a new stadium, Bristol was always a nice trip, same for Preston. So will wait for the Fixtures coming out on 17th June to see which are on a wet and windy Wednesday.
And he can't cook for toffee, either. Sorry, with so many people making unfair criticisms of him on this board, I thought I should jump on the bandwagon.
I'd hesitate to just dismiss all free agents as cast offs. Just because another club is leaving them go doesn't mean they wouldn't be a great signing for us. We did after all get some of our greatest players of the Roy Hodgson era for free (Schwarzer, Murphy, Gera). If the right player is available for free there's no point paying millions for an alternative.
