Somehow Norwich managed to win their last game before yet another break in the disjointed season for international fixtures. I am surprised I am still doing this thread, but hope springs eternal with some players starting to come back from injury, will I still be doing the next thread? Who knows? Two teams that will be looking to turn their recent form around after the international break, Norwich languish in 16th and QPR in 23rd. Form Norwich WLLLL QPR DDLLL Norwich are hoping that over the next few weeks that players will come back from injury and help them get back towards the right end of the table, Wagner knows that too many points have been dropped recently and if the form continues in that way he may well find himself out of a job. QPR on the other hand have drafted in a team of bankers to look for new investment for the club. Gareth Ainsworth was sacked a few weeks ago and since then they have managed two draws and two clean sheets. Each club have players back and each are looking to make the difference after the international break, an intriguing match at Carrow Road beckons.
DW: "Light at the end of the tunnel" on injuries - Barnes back in training, Hanley two weeks away, Forshaw and Gunn a week away. Rowe (heel) is a late call.
Great that Barnes has a full week in training and is in contention for QPR. Gunn, Hanley and Forshaw are now two weeks away from returning to training and Sargent and Sørensen are three weeks off and thus might be back for the Christmas run of games but Jonathan Rowe remains a doubt for this weekend. The injury update is, of course, good news, but it would be the height of folly if that is made an excuse for not addressing the structural and other weaknesses identified by Ben Lee in his latest analysis. As Ben says, DW's repeating the mantra that "we just need to do the same thing, but better" is head in the sands stuff. The proof is in the numbers and we now have a numbers man in charge ............
I will go for a home win this week, mostly on the basis that QPR rarely walk away with a result from Carrow Road. I have no reason to believe this time will be any different, for as poor as we have been, the R's have been every bit as poor if not a bit worse.
Not impresssed that Duffy has come straight back in over Warner. And what does Sainz have to do to start over Hernandez?
