Wagner will be hoping for a further step in reaction from his side after an improved performance against Fulham in midweek despite the result. Wagner mentioned some players may keep their position from midweek, the most likely candidates to me could be Forshaw and Placheta. There may be the possibility of Batth coming in for Gibson but I’m not sure DW will do that - less than half for each. Birmingham are only 1 point behind us with the same goal difference, having scored and conceded less than us. Positive vibes!!! On The Ball City!!!
I didn’t realise that Gunn needed an injection for an injury and has had to miss 4/5 days training. Touch and go for him to play tomorrow
Sainz is still behind on match fitness, but could come on as a sub again. The key question is who starts behind Idah. WhoScored thinks it will be Gibbs, but there are many other possibilities, including Forshaw either there or alongside McLean with Sara moving forward.
I can’t find it but I thought DW had said that Borja may play for the u21s a bit more to build up fitness over liger game periods. I’d be more than happy with a 30min cameo from him though. For me it should be Sara behind Idah but that is dependant on Forshaw playing alongside McLean and I think that’s doubtful given that he is only just coming up to fitness and played midweek, although he could be rotated with Gibbs.
I feel a bit sorry for Gibbs this season, he seems to have struggled for game time and not shown anything like his form from last season yet, which is hard without consistent game time
Rowe as ‘second’ striker seems a good punt. Having scored 5 goals in 5 matches he has gone quiet recently. He should get some chances to add to his tally; he certainly has the ability to score some clinically taken goals.
