IMO, if we don't score first, Villa will just 'park the bus' and use every time wasting tactic they can. Hernandez should at least be in the squad, but may not start. I'm hoping it will be a good game and I'm giving up time at the Beer Festival to be there. etc
For crying out loud, JMF, how many beer festivals do you guys have over there? Have you ever missed one!?
Thanks guys. October is the normal time for the Norwich Beer Festival, but for the last 2 years and also next year, we host the CAMRA winter one as well, as it goes to one venue for 3 years
Back on topic - DF says winning games by a single goal is bad for his nerves as well as us fans/supporters/spectators - http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic...-tussles-ahead-of-aston-villa-visit-1-5747398
It's great to have a manager who can express himself so well in what is his second language. Compare that to Lambert, Hughton and Neill. He also has a balanced sense of realism: “It is more like each and every win we have to fight until the last seconds and you are bit scared when all the long balls are flying into our box or there is a set-piece and the opposing centre backs go into our box." Only this time it was us coming from behind, though we did have to defend at the end, but as he also says: “In general, it is also a good sign we can protect a one-goal lead, keep our nerves and bring a close result over the line." And realistically again: “If we were a favourite for promotion then you have a right to expect in 50 games or whatever there is an easy 3-0 or 4-1 win. If you win all the games by a smaller margin maybe it shows we still have some steps to take." Let's hope we take them!
What is wrong with Tetty this season? It seems that he is playing g as well as he ever has for us, and yet in 12 matches to date he has amassed a paltry TWO yellow cards. At this rate he may not get a suspension at all. And Godfrey/Thompson are waiting for this to happen.
Maybe it is being the skipper ?? Wait until Hanley coms back and takes the armband again - Alex will then rack up the yellows for sure
That is a brilliant interview and Farke clearly isn't afraid to share his views. The biggest winning scoreline was 2-1 and most games we are still in with a chance of winning or drawing up to the final whistle . How I would love a comfortable 3-0 tonight .
We did beat PL Cardiff 3-1 in the cup with 10 changes. Hopefully with the tactics and the passing game working well now, we can push on tonight and in upcoming games.
He was referring to the league competition, the BBC also stated that we haven't had an Englishman score this season . Aarons scored in that 3-1 League cup win . “I got the feeling in doing this job for the past 16 months the biggest win is 2-1 or something,” he joked. “It is more like each and every win we have to fight until the last seconds and you are bit scared when all the long balls are flying into our box or there is a set-piece and the opposing centre backs go into our box. “In general, it is also a good sign we can protect a one-goal lead, keep our nerves and bring a close result over the line Preston away was 2-0
I’m expecting another tight game tonight. From the highlights only looked like Villa held on after scoring early against the Swans. Kind of feels familiar with many of our 1:0s.
