Norwich City's players will reimburse the admission price for all the Canaries fans who travelled to watch Saturday's 3-0 loss at Swansea City.

The squad decided to the make the gesture as a thank you to the 899 fans who made the 612-mile round trip.

Nowich captain Russell Martin, said: "All the lads really felt for the fans at the end of Saturday's game.

"Hopefully this will help them with the cost of travelling to our next away game at Fulham."

Norwich are six points clear of the Premier League relegation zone with just one win from their last five matches.

They entertain fellow strugglers West Bromwich Albion on Saturday and travel to bottom of the league Fulham on 12 April.

Martin said: "These next few games are obviously vital and the support and the atmosphere at our recent win over Sunderland at Carrow Road made a massive difference.

"So hopefully they'll get right behind us again this Saturday when we play West Brom, at Fulham and in all of our remaining games, to help us finish as high up the table as possible."

Couldn't imagine our mob doing this to the fans that travelled to Southampton.

I suggested our players (and Pards) do this while the Southampton game was going on.

    Fell on deaf ears.

Got back rather late and missed most of the posts of the day.

I did post a little something about the game but on another thread but it seems to have gone missing.

You shouldn't have said that, he'll use it as an excuse now.

Hope they're a little more generous at Christmas to the tea lady this year, and don't give her a new tea pot for her to make their tea in.

A little something else from Norwich. From NUFC.com

    Canaries cough up.

From the official Norwich City website, Tuesday:

The Norwich City players* are to reimburse the admission price for all of the Canary fans who travelled to South Wales to watch the 3-0 defeat to Swansea in last Saturday’s Barclays Premier League clash.

The squad decided to make the gesture as a special one-off thank-you to the Yellow Army for their fantastic support home and away this season.

A total of 899 paying City fans were at the Liberty Stadium, with most of them making the 612-mile round trip to support their team at the Premier League ground furthest away from Carrow Road.

The price for the Swansea game was reduced to £20 for adults and £10 for concessions as part of a reciprocal arrangement.

    * presumably including on-loan Jonas Gutierrez

For Norwich read Newcastle - with the vital stats being a 4-0 defeat, 646 mile round trip, 2,187 paying sufferers and £37 adult ticket price. Over to you, Fabricio....
