Okay, after our late start to the saturday game, I thought I'd start this one early, and see if I can bring a bit of luck to things. I won't bother posting a suggested starting line up, though I'll offer up a few suggestions. I don't think Vetokele deserves a place in the starting line up given his last few months, so he goes on the bench. Buyens, despite his 'assist' at Middlesborough, is a player I don't want to see unless he starts to show he cares, and from the reports about some of the players making a dash for the tunnel at full time, there are others who need to take a look at themselves some time soon (and that includes Luzón). Cousins in the centre, Fox at the back, Watt to start, I'll leave it there.
Solly will probably be rested, so Gomez will come in. Veljkovic's shoulder injury looked quite bad, which leaves the position open for Jackson. If roland issues an edict that Le Point has to start then we will start with one up front, doesn't really matter who it is IMO. I get the impression that LePoint doesn't have to start, only come on from the bench but we will see. Wilson seems to be finished as a Charlton player, and cuts a sorry figure now on the touchline, after being runner-up for POTY last season.
I really can't see it matters who starts I think we are going to be struggling to win, or even draw. Sorry to be so gloom ridden, but we really are at Rock bottom both on and off the field.
Line up v Norwich - a tribute to Duchatelet's investment.... 1. The Serbian keeper 2. The Should Be Shot Fox 3. Honolulu (Solly won't play twice in 4 days) 4. On Yer Bikey 5. Wantaway Ben Haim 6. Pony Buyens 7. One Gud Game In Five 8. Headless Chicken Cousins 9. Watt a Journeyman 10. Oh Christ Its Church 11. Cally Messy- First Touch Subs; Whats The Point Le Point Boo Lot Bulot Rogered Johnson Midget Etheridge Igor WanttheHeckAway
I've just refreshed this 2904 times to get the view rate up. I'm predicting a Charlton/Norwich half time/full time.
Losing interest as the weeks go on. I've decided to skip tomorrow's game, few friends asked if I was up for a midweek bodeans and beer, and that sounded better. Norwich seem to be improving. A quiet January was a positive thing for them IMO, and although an interesting choice, I think the new man in charge will end up being a success for them. 0-2. Early goal and a late counter attack.
Going to the game from work, as been said already a lot in recent weeks, Losing interest. Still going to go but I no longer feel excited by game day, it feels more like a duty now, like going to work, you don't want to but feel like you kind of have to.
Did anyone else think he looked a bit awkward when he came on in the Rotherham match? Bit like a white Carlton Palmer I thought.
I'm actually going home first from work, to get my car. I usually get the train there then bus it. I reckon I'm going to miss the first ten minutes, and two Norwich goals, both from Hooper. Guy "ain't got a clue" Luzon, I reckon is going to go with this formation. please log in to view this image Then his post match review will go along the lines of... "Northwick a good team in premier league, if can do like them, we might score from set play, open play, by penalty. Football game of halves, and when not concentrate for 90 minutes, yellow team score a goals."
I'm not going to predict the score. How about trying to predict when LePoint will come on, and for whom? 78th minute for Cousins is my guess.
Agree with Alex and Ted. I will be going tonight, but mid week after work games are a massive chore at the best of times, which this isn't. Will definitely be making this my last mid-weeker if things go pear shaped tonight.
I imagine our plan will be to defend in numbers and hope to frustrate Norwich, maybe even nick a breakaway goal in a repeat of the last game. It won't be pretty to watch, and will kill the atmosphere. It's all very well to say "Get behind the boys and make some noise", but you can't do that if you're asleep, can you?
i wouldnt go tonight but i'm more interested in the fans' reaction to the board / luzor than the football, so will go. i hope the board get berated even more so tonight. last time, they got off lightly with "roland, roland make a sub". i'm sure the north upper can be much more inventive about the board if they tried.
When we were on that terrible run under Pardew then Parky didn't we Nick a result against Norwich to stop the rot? Think that was around this time of year?
