A4L seems to have gone AWOL, and I presume will be shot at dawn. So let's have a match thread here. Charlton: Henderson; Gomez, Wiggins, Ben Haim, Bikey-Amougou; Wilson, Bulot, Buyens, Jackson (c), Cousins; Vetokele Subs: Pope, Morrison, Moussa, Harriott, Fox, Munns, Ahearne-Grant Norwich: Ruddy; Whittaker, Martin (c), Turner, Olsson; Redmond, Tettey, Johnson, Hoolahan; Jerome, Grabban Subs: Rudd (GK), Howson, Hooiveld, Loza, Garrido, Josh Murphy, O'Neil. Gomez in for Solly, Wilson in for JBG, and it looks like Igor up front on his own with no sign of Tucudean or Church. Hopefully that means Cousins will be in the middle of a midfield 5. Munns and Ahearne-Grant are on the bench. COYA!
Bob can relax and enjoy this one as no-one gives us a prayer. If he gets anything here even I will become a believer. Team as expected, Nice to see Munns join Ahearne-Grant on the bench, but central midfield is not really where we need a new face. We will see what Bulot can do from the start. Looks a bit light-weight to me. I quite like Moussa, but does he still have fitness/stamina problems? 0-2 to Norwich.
Sorry guys - I've been in meetings out of the day and now stuck in Milton Keynes as my Manchester - London train got suspended <angry> This is definitely the toughest test yet IMO. They have quality running through the first 11 and as strong in reserve. I hope we line up in a 4-5-1 with cousins supporting JJ and buyens, and Bulot and Wilson being able to get forwar. I can't see us winning, but think we will be able to give a good accoun of ourselves.
That is a minor problem. Worry about our first XI first! In fact, I am not sure it is a problem at all. We have plenty of experience in the first XI even if we have to make changes during the game. Experience is not what we are lacking. And we welcomed being allowed to have seven subs precisely so we could give youngsters some encouragement. You can only use three subs and I think Pope, Morrison, Fox and Moussa wouldn't much weaken the team if they had to come on. There are (or were) arguments for each of them starting. We have no proven striker on the bench, but then we are already one short in the first team. That worries me more. Would love to see the 17-year-old A-G come on and score a couple, though!
Some advice... Don't score first! In all seriousness, expecting a tough game and can only see a close result. Draw or odd goal either way. Good luck
Hoolahan threads it through to Grabban down the right, but Henderson turns his shot behind at the near post.
Confusion as the referee initially gives Norwich a goal despite Henderson being fouled. The linesman stays where he is and convinces him to overturn his decision.
