--------------Ruddy--------------- -Naughton-Ward--Bennett-Tierney- ---------------Fox---------------- Bennett-Howson-Johnson-Pilkington ---------------Holt---------------- Tierney and Pilkington are English, but if they were called up by Ireland then you can replace them with Drury and Surman respectively. Is there another club in the country who could yield a stronger team consisting only of English players? I think most would struggle with the goalkeeper, but I don't think Man City or West Brom could match what we have in outfield either. Credit to Lambert to be doing so well in the Premier League with homegrown players.
Pilkington's Irish, he's played for their U-21's. MUFC definitely are better with Amos, Fryers, Jones, Ferdinand, Smalling, Carrick, Cleverly, Scholes, Young, Rooney, Welbeck (4-3-3) Newcastle with (Harper, Perch, Williamson, S Taylor, Simpson, R Taylor, Guthrie, Gosling, Sammy Ameobi, Shola Ameobi, Ranger) are the only other arguable superior team but imo Norwich's is better. Beyond them, there are a number of sides without the keeper or without enough senior English players. Stoke have the numbers but the quality isn't there.
I've never heard of Amos/Fryers so they can't be that great. All the players I used are first team regulars (Most were today, if not were injured). I'll admit that Manchester United XI is alot stronger than I would have thought they would of had though!
Pilkington is about as Irish as I am. He was born in England and has an English accent. I think his Grandfather once flew over Ireland when he was going to New York - that's how he got a call-up.
But Surman's South Africa, he was born in Johannesburg. I suppose we could just change the formation and play Wilbrahamovic instead
They're 20 and 19 respectively, but Amos is honestly very good and kept a CS earlier in the season in the EPL when Lindegaard and DDG were out. Fryers is the weak link but has played in Europe and is very highly rated.
