We roll on to the next tough test at Carrow Road 9th November 3:00 pm KICK OFF

Well after Tuesday night and Max the kamikaze goalkeeper giving away three points -Rob Dickie thinking he is Beckenbauer taking the ball out and getting caught just kick it into row z.

5 Minutes of madness cost us dearly.

We need to start learning how to play out games especially against top sides like Sheff Utd.

Norwich sit one point below us in the table having lost 2-0 at Sheff Weds on Tuesday and us giving three points away to Sheff Utd in the last five minutes.

I would imagine Big Rob Atkinson will play as he was on the bench Tuesday night in place of the suspended Rob Dickie.

Injuries are getting worse by the week- our biggest concern is scoring goals something that must be addressed in the jan window.

We drew 1-1 in April 2024 at carrow road and to be quite honest i would take that Saturday.

These two strikers that we spent the best part of 4 million on need to start producing goals -surely questions need to be asked of the scouting that was carried out at the time.

We are relying on a ageing Nahki Wells who has not been that consistent in the goalscoring department since his arrival from Burnley- 0nly this season does he seem to have bucked his ideas up since the new strikers arrived.

    2-2 DRAW on the cards

A tough place to go. I can't see us getting anything from this one.
But that's what I said against Middlesbrough, Stoke and Leeds !

I actually think we’ve been much more consistent of late. They haven’t lost for ages at home, so going to be tough. I thought we did really well against Sheffield Utd, despite losing. I reckon we’ll respond well to the loss, it’ll be a tight game but hopefully we’ll get at least a point.

City are above Norwich in the league. We need to stop feeling inferior to these teams. Norwich are home and will have the pressure to come out and play. These circumstances normally suit us COYR.

Their home record is amazing. I do agree we have nothing to fear though.

just need to keep playing as we have we have been brilliant-the only downside was kamikaze
O’Leary with his feeble save on Tuesday night costing us points.

Sometimes we big the opposition up unnecessarily.

He should have caught it I agree, but we didn’t defend the following corner well either, then the usually dependable Dickie, had a mare reducing us to 10 men. Which ultimately led to their second. To purely blame O’Leary and call him Kamikaze isn’t helpful either.

The problem is we always have struggled against the Norwich’s of the.world in seasons gone by.
We need to see consistency where we can give the better sides in the championship a game and get points.
Traditionally we have not done that since our return to the championship.
We have been a club that can win a game against the so called better teams but then blow it in the next two or three games.

We have been ‘that’ club ever since we arrived in this league RR - under successive management regimes.

Have we ever won at Norwich ?
In my lifetime I can’t seem to recall a victory there
I remember sometime in the early 70’s we were 2-0 up at half time at Carrow Road and still lost 3-2

    Norwich match thread and view-

At the beginning of the season the indication following JHT’s arrival was that we needed to prepare for 2 to 3 seasons in the wilderness as we restructured and got to grips with changes intended to make us successful long term. The excitement that followed with multiple victories combined with the heroics of Sainz lured many into believing that the new build may only take 2-3 months. Suspenjuries have pricked that little bubble of hope / fantasy with Norwich’s starting XI now looking more like a Carabao Cup lineup and perhaps a more realistic expectation emerging of the team’s circumstances.

Critical players are missing but our squad players filling the gaps have so far been unable to grab their opportunity to shine. Sometimes, these absences can have a silver lining. Think back to Max Aarons coming in for Ivo Pinto. Right now, we could use one or more of the fringe players getting a start to really grab that opportunity by the horns.

The next chance to do so will be Saturday at 3pm, back at Carrow Road. Bristol City are inbound. They are one place and one point above us in 11th spot having lost to Sheffield Utd midweek, losing a one goal lead late on. (Sound familiar?) but also a good away win at PNE last weekend. Bristol are having a similar injury problem, with their defence feeling it the most. Head Coach, Liam Manning has flagged “a flurry of injuries” for Bristol. Midfielders Mark Sykes and Joe Williams and Defenders Kal Naismith and George Tanner are out plus maybes include other defenders Ross McCrorie and Luke McNally. CB, Rob Dickie is suspended now too following a red card midweek.

Norwich suspenjury latest (via @@SuffolkCanary Thanks!)

Sargent – Had surgery – 7-8 weeks out
    Forsyth – knee - 5/6 weeks
Hills – Back – Back in training today after a few weeks out
Hernandez – Too soon this weekend
Fassnacht – Knock to his knee on Tuesday
Gunn – Should be back after international break – West Brom game
Nunez – Should be back after international break maybe not West Brom
Mclean – Additional game ban for misconduct. 4 games now means he misses this weekend and West Brom
Sorensen – 75mins and 90mins after coming back from injury, only planned to give him 60mins

Sounds a bit depressing, however… Norwich are undefeated in 14 of their last 15 matches against Bristol and you may have heard :emoticon-0105-wink: that it’s now more than a year since a team last beat Norwich at Carrow Road. Long may that record last! (See what I did there?).

Good luck team. Let's have some more points on the board please.

Enough of the psycho mumbo jumbo
We used to struggle against Forest - and then PNE.
    We’ve buried both those ghosts.
    Let’s bury this one too.

Yes please that would be a real boost to our injury ravaged squad-seems Norwich are in the same boat injury wise.

Our defence is in tatters right now. No natural RB/RBW likely to be available tomorrow. Even if he plays Vyner there, we are critically short in the middle, thanks to the unnecessary Dickie red card.

It's hard to see how we compete in this game, given the injuries. I see Norwich have a few, but I don't know how 'important' those players are. At least three of the injured/suspended players are crucial to us.

McNally should be back according to Manning, Atkinson was on the bench against Sheff Utd, we obviously have Vyner and Pring and Robert’s , earthy did ok against Sheff Utd at RB as well. We’ll have to manage. We also have Morrison who is a LB/LWB who also came on briefly and did ok at the end of the Sheff Utd match. Then it’s another international break to try to muster the troops

    edit
I’m pretty sure Knight has played RB for Derby as well.
