Congratulations to Norwich City midfielder Leroy Fer on scoring for Holland in their 2-0 win over Chile, now if only Hodgson had selected 1 or 2 Norwich players for his squad we might have progressed further

Well done Leroy, looking out for the Netherlands, they play some exciting football, although Vlaar is shaky and playing wing backs has caused a couple of worries.

This is not possible. When will these Managers listen to the section of NCFC fans who know everything. According to them Fer is useless, not up to even Championship standard and should be shipped out for a song as soon as possible. Who is this idiot who not only puts him in his World Cup squad but then goes so far as to play him. The same applies to the Swedish Manager who consistently picks Elmander when, in reality, he is as much use as a pack of sausages - a quote from another thread. As for Hoolahan playing for ROI - what does O'Neill know about being a Manager or players ability? When will these Managers realise that certain people who see these players once a fortnight know far more than people who earn a living out of the game!! Exit stage right before the missiles start being thrown.

Exciting football? I did the laundry, the dishes and watered the plants in the first half...

You're a saint, Cove, but I have to agree with 1950 about the shortsightedness of some City fans.

I can't believe anyone who supports Norwich wouldn't want to see Leroy Fer return next season.

Just because we got relegated doesn't mean we have 'bad' players, especially those who only joined us last season.

Many if the new players had to adjust to a new club, a new country, a new system and new expectations. The fact they are payed so much doesn't make those adjustments any easier.

Fer is one of the most exciting midfielders we've had for years. His partnership with Tettey COULD tear up the championship next season.

I think if we'd somehow managed to secure the services of Yaya Toure last season, a contingent of our fans would be crying out that he is over-rated.

    Get over it!

There is no shame getting relegated after three tough and exciting seasons. The more players we hold on to the more we are likely to play well and win games. Regardless which league that is in.

Talking about the whole tournament Cove, you've got to admit they've been one of the more entertaining teams?

After the match against the Spaniards we went back to our normal level to be honest. Us Dutch go from euphoria to pessimism in a heartbeat though.

The first half against Australia was poor but I was impressed with a lot of the last half, Australia are always stubborn opponents in sports even when they have a poor team.

In fairness a lot of teams have struggled in this competition, the knockout stages will be interesting.
