Well that's clever wait till the dust has settled then stir it all up again, Ffs! Sent from my C6903 using Tapatalk
not being funny but you can't fart in the direction of another player these days without a FA charge following.
If this is refering to me then you can't be further from the truth! I think it is very harsh for what was just a flashpoint at the end of the game!
i assume the referee will be demoted after the 'goal' incident? if not, why not? he should have been demoted for his performance against us at the emirates last season too! ironically, he was having a good game on saturday before this happened.
The Ref who gave that goal against Cardiff the week before clearly messed up but was given another Premier League game the following week! The assessor in the stand must also be demoted if he did not mention it afterwards! Being a Referee myself I find that standards are dropping in the professional game even the basics are not being penalised these days. The number of Foul throws, taking free kicks from the wrong place, taking free kicks when the ball is still moving, defensive walls allowed to move forward before the kick is taken... These things get missed every week!
Totally agree with all of this, i bet you count probably 5 to 10 foul throws every game yet none will get pulled up. as for what goes on at corners, jesus!
Obviously I do not know for certain, but I have heard from more than 1 source that he DID restart the game by waving the ball in to play. If that is true, then yes, he should be dealt with in some way. if not, then fair enough I guess. Unless a camera angle can be found to prove or disprove, we maybe will never know what really happened.
he did! he quite clearly waves them to proceed. it was captured on tv which makes it even more stupid that he then claimed he 'didn't whistle' which isn't even important - he signalled them to restart the game and then made up a rule which doesn't exist to get him out of a sticky situation. it might have been a 'naughty' goal but it damn well should have stood. whether we'd have let them walk one in the other end we'll never know.
from what i saw on the TV, He waved his hands and i took it he was telling RVW to throw the ball back to marshall, not to restart the game. but it could have been construde the either way i presume.
i personally think the standard in the premier league has improved this season. its not been much by i'm finding their interpretation of the advantage rule far better now. there seems to be a little more 'common sense' being used as well. of course technically, i'm now calling for a referee to be demoted for what some may feel was 'using common sense' but is re-writing the rule book 'common sense'? perhaps in this instance it was but the ref was in the wrong with what he gave.
okay, make that 3 sources now! My stream started to freeze on 85 minutes so I never really saw much, other than the ball crossing the line and the score showing 1-0 - then it was 0-0 10 seconds later. I was sitting here totally bewildered at the time
he clearly waves rvw to take the throw in - he doesn't tell him to throw it back because it isn't in the rules to pass it back - its a decision taken by that player. 99.9% of the time it goes back to your opponent because its deemed 'fair play' in this country and i have no problem with that, but the referee tried to weasel his way out of making a gaff by lying. i also notice nothing was said about the fact marshall put the ball out for tettey to receive treatment but he was already back on his feet. the decision to put the ball out was entirely a time wasting tactic - is that sportsmanship?
