I want to wish them well but its a dirty **** hole (apologies to any residents and former residents - I do work there and see the worst of it, plus all the football teams are filth)

 

Bit of a **** thing to say tbh! Why not just say well done and leave it at that? The whole town are very proud at the moment.

Great day at Wembley.

Been to Wembley 5 times with NUFC and lost every single time. Been to Wembley 3 times with Whitley Bay and won every time. Been to Wembley 1 time with North Shields and won. Someone up there is trying to tell me something.

At 1 min 28 sec if you freeze. You should then see 2 Blyth Spartan fans. Three rows in front of them and to the right by 2 people there I am in a white England Rugby Union strip.

At 2 min 24 secs the Robins team and subs are "piling" but the funny part was the first team goalie out due to injury the day before the Final and in yellow shorts hobbled half the length of the pitch to just get there in time to "pile".

At 2 min 52 secs I'm in again, same spot, same shirt, arms in air celebrating.

At 3 min 31 secs a certain Supermac appears; he is President of Shields, I think.

Celebrated so much after that actually missed the train home and had to catch the one one hour later.

One day I'm sure I'll be there with the Toon but then again I have been thinking that for over 50 years now.

Perhaps you should take your blinkers off then mate. You might find something positive to say. As you said, you see the worst of it, BUT, do you see the BEST of it? There is good and bad wherever you go so why are you concentrating on the negatives when there were so many positives to enjoy?

 

Perhaps you should stick to your opinion and I'll stick to mine. Why would I give a **** about North Shields? I'm not from there, and I haven't experienced much good there. I'm sure it is very nice for the team and the people of North Shields, good luck to them. I'd focus on the positive but I can't think of many - you can get the ferry to Amsterdam I won't however start jumping on the bandwagon just because its somewhere near me. Sunderland isn't that far, funnily enough I don't wish them well either.

I think you are getting all Mr Serious about something which doesn't require it. Lighten up. Somebody doesn't like North Shields or wish them well, its hardly world ending is it? I am sure many people don't care for many places in Northumberland (and have said so).

 

What does it matter what the town is like, it's the football team who people support. Why is some people have nothing positive to say? They won at Wembley for gods sake which is what millions dream of.

 

I think its called giving an opinion on a thread someone posted and giving background to that opinion. I'm not sure though so don't quote me on it. I think it might be what these forum thingymajiggys are all about.

You have to have balance in life, hence we have Mr Tiote and BRS. It may be the popular thing to say to wish North Shields well, it may be very well meant by those who do. There is also nothing wrong with not wishing them well I wouldn't get you knickers in a twist, we all have our likes and dislikes in life. North Shields is one of mine.

Well, from what I can gather perhaps it is best for North Shields to be wiped out by some sort of freak tsunami. They will never achieve greatness like this again so perhaps preserving that glorious moment for all eternity whilst holding Poseidon's 54 inch cobalt blue hammerhead might be for the best.

 

See the problem with this is that for those of us that have never been to North Shields, (although google-mapping it I must have been through on the way to Whitley Bay when I was at Uni but guess I was too overawed by the beauty of Whitley Bay,or numbed by the cold to notice it) that when someone such as yourself states its sxxt we tend to believe this must be true and might not visit. After all you are the only person on this forum who was right about Pardew all along. While you are of course entitled to your views you have to remember that With Great Enlightenment Comes Great Responsibility (as John Carver said in his last press conference) and you must be careful what you say to your many disciples.
Also encouraging our resident thread-stopper BRS for help from another thread is simply bad form and you could tell his heart wasn't really in it. Its politer than one of Trev's posts.

My point was that you are very negative towards the town. This is the same town which provides you with a job. (which is a positive methinks!) I don't know where you are from but I'm sure it has its quota of good and bad just like anywhere else. Nobody asked you to give a **** about North Shields and if you are not from there, nobody would expect it. "I'm sure it is very nice for the team and the people of North Shields, good luck to them." - Thats all you needed to say. No need for the ****! I may be Mr Serious, and yes it does require it. Why should I say nothing when a biased opinion is quoted on here? I have right of reply.

 

They don't provide me with a job at all. I do some work there, a very minor part of overall workload. Indeed if we never worked there again it would have next to no impact on our business whatsoever. We do so because a client happens to have a few properties in the area. I can confirm that Northumberland certainly does have its good and bad (quite a wide range to be fair)

I think it is you who is getting upset as I have had a dig back and you don't like it. There's not many on here share you negativity, all have wished the team good luck.
Sorry if that bores you! Obviously your truth and mine are 2 different things!

PS Can I ask where you are from? The fact that It's Tyne and Wear, not Northumberland shows how ignorant you are!

 

I may hang myself now you have had a dig back and revealed not many share my opinion. Oh what a tragedy. Its all the more hurtful as I spend my days longing for acceptance and others to feel like I do about North Shields Why would I get upset because you don't like my opinion. If anything I find it amusing that it has got your back up. Its pretty trivial afterall. Maybe you have not really grasped that I don't take anything particularly seriously on here - not many do. I'll get to this later...

I haven't had a dig in the first place, I've stated an opinion. You've given yours, which I respect your right to (something you seem to be struggling with). You like North Shields and wish them well, I don't and do not. Its pretty straight forward but you are getting all pissy about the details. What do you want? Me to agree? Apologise? You keep saying why can't you just wish them well. Perhaps because I don't want to? There was no rule in the OP about only positive posts with fairies and unicorns allowed.

I am from Northumberland but spend most of my time booshing your mother. She loves it. I thought this was obvious when I responded to the last request and you were sure it had its good and bad. I confirmed it does. Don't worry about the geography, consider more how to be more understanding to others and their views...
