Heres a question for you all, and this applies to our friends from the other side also who take the time to participate on here, with both Bristol clubs strong Scottish connections of late, do you think that the players have the pedigree to improve the respective teams, I have seen a fair few higher end Scottish games and I can tell you all the standard generally is not that good, you only have to look at the national team which at this moment in time is dire. Have you watched Scottish football if so whats your opinion?

Second question, Rovers have done a few pre seasons in Scotland, it would be interesting to know our over all record playing these team in competitive and friendly games, last one I remember was Inverness last season which finish 2-2 if I remember rightly. I am sure we have played Scottish teams competitively in the past, not sure of the competition, Watney Cup & St Mirren come to mind??

There was an Anglo Scottish Cup the 82ers won it in 1978 beating St. Mirren in the final.

to me the scottish prem players are league 1/2 standard and some will take to the english game and others wouldnt. our leagues are bigger and better stronger and some wouldnt cope with this and will be found out. some would cope and do well.

i personally dont know details of our history with the scottish clubs but i do remember we played inverness pre season last season at twerton.
