Norburn last played in the 3-0 loss at Birmingham on January 14 and has dropped out of the match day squad altogether for the last three games. Ward says Norburn has taken the setback like a "proper professional" and insists that opportunities to force his way back into the reckoning are still open to him.

"Ollie has been a little bit unlucky and is probably feeling a little bit left out at the moment. I would be worried if he was happy about that because he is a footballer and all he'll want to do is to get his boots on. He hasn't been banging my door down because he probably accepts that we have added to the quality we have in that midfield area at the moment. He is the odd man out in that respect because the other boys are ahead of him in what I want to do at the moment. We have had some good results in the last few weeks and he will have to bide his time. I understand that is something that is not easy to do for a footballer, but, to be fair to him, I think he accepts that the boys in the team have done well."

O'Toole is just one booking away from a suspension so Norburn may be offered an avenue back into the side in the next few weeks!

"If an opportunity arises for Ollie, he has to be ready to take it in the same way that David Clarkson has taken his. I said to David not so long ago that his chances may be limited, but he has since got into the team and has played a big part in our 5 match unbeaten run. Im a football manager and part of that job requires me to make difficult decisions and selections and I haven't had a problem with Ollie on or off the pitch at all. Ollie has been absolutely fine up to this moment in time and I expect him to continue that way. I've never closed the door on a player and I never will, it's just that sometimes it can be hard for them to open it."
