    Nobody for President: The Americans campaigning for 'none of the above'

    Faced with two unpalatable options, some Americans are urging voters to reject both of them.
    Given the
    tremendous antipathy towards Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, many Americans will be holding their noses on 8 November and voting for the lesser of two evils - whomever they believe that might be. But some are calling for a total pox on both houses, in a vocal online drive to "Vote Nobody".
    More than 100,000 people have liked the
    Vote Nobody 2016 Facebook page, one of the most popular of dozens of social media accounts actively campaigning against both of America's major party nominees.
    Vote Nobody actually began on Facebook during the 2012 US presidential election, says Fred Barnet, the self-described political junkie who created it. It went dormant for a while and - in yet another indication of the hatred swirling around the current race - only had around 2,500 likes before he started actively managing it again in March of this year.
    The page is peppered with memes trashing the two candidates, often with a fatalistic sense of humour

    Do you think there should be an option at all elections to select 'none of the above' as a legitimate form of protest?

    Anyone can deface their voting slip but there is no way of this being registered at the count other than it being listed as void.

    The third option looks totally justified in the up-coming US Presidential elections and I'd welcome something along the same lines here too.

    Technically yes but it is a bit like saying there are more than two teams in Scottish Football when nobody gives a f*ck about anything other than Celtic and Rangers. If they so choose the Yanks can pick from these;

    Presidency 2016
    President Obama is barred by constitutional term limits from seeking re-election in 2016. A large crowd of candidates will likely compete for the Democratic and Republican nominations. Plus there are LOTS of likely third party and independent P2016 hopefuls. So, if a person is running, or thinking of running -- regardless of party, ballot status, or chances of winning -- we have him or her listed below. Incumbent party first, following by the main opposition party, then the third party candidates, and finally the independent and write-in hopefuls.
