Sorry but am not going to spend much time reviewing the game as we were truly awful all game.We truly look relegation candidates and I cannot see us getting any more points in the next few games.

Here are my thoughts from today

1 - Turner is awful. In 3 games he has played we have conceded 11 goals

2 - if we play Morison we need to play to his strengths and CROSS THE BLOODY BALL to him otherwise he is mediocre

3 - Snodgrass is a good player but PLAY HIM ON THE LEFT

4 - DO NOT PLAY SURMAN on the left of a 4 4 2 as he comes into the centre leaving no width that cause the problem for point 2.In fact do not play him at all!

5 - Bradley Johnson cannot pass or shoot on target and is not a holding player. Fox or Tetty are better.

6 - Play Hoolahan instead of Howson but not on THE LEFT WING

7 - Change the formation when it needs obviously sorting Mr. Hughton

8 - Get Elliot Benett back in the team

This was a real low for me today. Not as low as Colchester but not far off. Losing faith a little in whether Hughton can keep us up based on what I have seen .If we lose the next 2 games, which is likely, that will be the scene set for the season. The board also need to have a real good long think about what to do come January.

    At least Holt scored.

Come on now Surgeryman. It was a harsh match, very hard to watch and I do agree with your points. Don't feel too bad though.

The minute I saw the team I thought "****..." No hoolahan, no Holt and I wouldn have put Tettey in as well.

Like I've said, this now forces Hughtons hand. He MUST make changes, there are plenty of options.

Sorry Beef but am very down about this as I am sure you are. He needs to change it as you say or we are in trouble as will he be.

Around me in the Barclay, we did not understand the starting selection.

    I would have played

    Ruddy
R.Martin, Barnett, ( yes I would have had Turner but not now) Garrido
    Tetty
    E.Bennett, Hoolahan, Snodgrass
    Holt Jackson

Losing faith in Hughton rapidly as he cannot adapt the system and makes poor subs that seem to make no sense

He seems a bit obsessed with 442 which is a worry. It's too rigid in a lot of these games
Need to think about a 4231 or similar, maybe johnson & tettey in the two or fox and tettey
Also surman doesn't really do it for me
A few more losses like this and will mcnasty stick with him, I seriously am not sure now

I would certainly never play Barnett and Turner together again, They seem disasterous together. Barnett seems to flourish only if given the right partner.

I thought Snodgrass was poor, I think it's time for Elliot Bennett big time as he works hard, is quick and crosses well. Good defensively also.

Fox in the engine room and tettey the muscle. We need to balance the midfield and try and make our link play from Defence, midfield and then attack much more consistent. It seems to stop and start.

And yeah, I'm a little gutted but I'm over it now. Just feel like we could have given more with the inclusion of Hoolahan especially.

This game for me was close to a Colchester moment, not quite ,but look what happened soon after that.

    Harry Rednapp anyone?

I wasn't massively worried today, we lost to a good side...

...BUT I use the Surgeryman match thread as my measuring stick - and I'm now concerned.

I paid £63.00 bloody quid for me and my lad, to go and watch that and I'm absolutely lost for words.
I didn't actually think Liverpool were that great, we were just absolutely shocking..
Turner, Johnson, Morison and Surman just not good enough and apart from Jackson we've got no pace in the team.

I could rant on and on - and that includes the stewards who refused to eject a Liverpool fan going loopy every time they scored.

We were in the Community Stand FFS!!!

It was as bad as Colchester - when we got whupped by the Tescoes I said to myself - it can't get any worse and we had League Cup tie at Yeovil and Exeter (a) and Wycombe (h) in the League to put things right - which we did. We've got Chelsea (a) and Arsenal (h) next so I can't see our powers of bounce-back being quite so resourceful this time round.

It is serious - changes are needed for the next game with Tettey, Fox, Hoops, Pilks and Benno all starting please and fingers crossed Bassong back.
