I was thinking of all the players we have had who qualify for other countries other than England and wondered what sort of team it would be. I have had a go at this and put in a few arguable/controversial players. But would welcome some other suggestions. Hull City Non-English Team (at the time they played for City) ------------------------V Mannone---------------------- B Mendy--------D Ayala-------D Delaney----J Dudgeon ----------------------W Bremner--------------------------- R Brady---------------R Koren---------------------S Hunt ----------------------Geovanni-------------------- ----------------------D Cousin-------------------- Others to choose from or for subs bench B Myhill B Guzan N Solano I Goodison P McShane K Zayette K Kilbane H Pedersen C Evans G Boateng R Garcia T Cairney S Elliot JJ Okocha T Whitmore
Isnt Dudgeon English? What about Chris Galvin instead of Brady. Would like to see that step over he used to do one more time and say to Brady and he got a cross in afterwards!
I dont know if he had an international career but as his brother Tony played for Eire i naturally assumed he would be eligible too? But hey feel free to jump on me.
Ye just looked him up. Does that mean he could still play for England as its only under 21's? Not sure of the ruling regarding internationals.
True. Chris would therefore have qualified as well but was never called up. Both were born in 'Uddersfield.
Seemed to struggle for defenders...had Zayette, Kilbane, McShane, Andy Davidson, Rui Marques, Mouyokolo, Sonko, so you can see the problem for the LH side.
4-4-2 Brad Guzan Solano Mouyokolo Zayatte Pederson Koren Julian Johnson Whitmore Okocha Cousin Altidore
is this a team designed not to get any goals? cousin isnt a striker in a month of sundays. altidore doesnt score enough. and ngata couldnt score with one of his billiard table passes .if you stood him and the ball six inches off the goal line. he'd tap it and it would roll five inches. you need alf ackerman up front. born south africa. 49 goals in 92 games. cousin and altidore wont end their careers with 49 between them.
Threads like this would be better if all the players were posted first and then people choose a squad afterwards. You have players like Viggo Jensen with his Danish caps in the late 40s/early 50s who would be a contender Other names, although not strictly contenders in addition to what has been mentioned Ian Goodison Antonio Doncel Kuipers Richard Garcia Iain Hesford - wasnt he Zambian by birth? Herry Ngata as mentioned Richard Sneekes Mouyokolo JJ Okocha Marques Cacares? Kyle Lightbourne? Nobby Belaid Boateng Van Blerk - think he was an aussie Ekra - not sure he counts! Halmosi JVOH Hessenthaler Sonko Zaki Vaz Te Probably missed loads too Ive ignored anyone UK + Ireland Worryingly, would the manager be Jan Molby?
Brian Cripsey was English but played for Wales , Gerry Bowler, Bill Harris,Terry Neil and Paddy ***an were all "home"internationals.
